Recently I bumped into the possibility that it might be possible to buy a Necron Warrior box and use the deathmark pieces (left from an immortals / death mark box) to build them as deathmarks.

Is there anybody out there who could confirm this?

I don't really see why it wouldn't be. The joints for both are just ball and socket. The arms MIGHT look a bit bulky compared to the rest of the warrior, but I doubt it would be extremely noticeable. Also, technically speaking with a warrior and immortal box, if you are decent with green stuff, you can make 5 Gauss Immortals, 5 Tesla Immortals, 2 Warriors, and a bunch of scarabs.

My friend did this. It gets a bit wonky because the Deathmark body/back is different than the Warrior body/back, and the arms aren't quite as clean of a fit with the Synaptic Disintegrator than they are with Gauss Flayers.

You can buy the immortal/Deathmark backs from Ebay, as well as the extra legs you'll need...you won't save a ton, but you can do it.

In addition if I remember right from when I gave it a go the heads of the deathmarks don't fit quite right into the body of the warrior, if you try to attach them as you would a warrior head to a warrior body the head ends up facing a weird angle which doesn't look right. So be prepared to do a little work on fixing that joint
