Personally, i feel that Gk units do not make good use of Land Raiders. GK units are not pure assault units, but rather a mix of shooting and Assault power. They work best on foot, shooting for several turns and then assaulting to mop up whatever is left.
If you try to use GK as either a "Pure Assault" or "Pure Shooting" unit you will be overpaying for them and not making the most of their abilities.
GK do have access to a "pure Assault" unit in their codex, and it is Henchmen.
4-5 Crusaders, 5-6 DCA, maybe add Character with Rad Grenades and either Hammerhand or Divination rerolls. (Xeno Inquisitor or Techmarine)
This unit cost far fewer points, and has for more assault power when it hits the enemies lines.
