Can they really be allies ?
And if so what are pros and cons to such a allies .
and what are some good ways to use them.

In the BRB they are allies of convenience so they cannot benefit from the Warlord's warlord trait or psyker powers, but can hold objectives and what you would need. If your main army is Tau, then they fill the role of the close combat auxiliaries much better than the kroot, plus with even more options! Personally I would take them as a Speed freeks army or something of massed Ork mobs to distract the enemy and tie them up/ take them out in the Assault.

If Orks where the main army, it provides the better quality shooting the Orks can use. Take them with with a squad of lootaz in the back and you will have some fun.

Look in the battle report section, dakka's own yakface is using them. They can make quite a powerful combo if used well
