Does the back rank have a very short range to shoot? I measure 8" from the base? :-o

The way it is written, every model in the unit can shoot, so long as the unit can shoot a target.

editing to clarify that the shot needs to be valid, and then why I stated that ^^.

The shooting attack has an 8" range, but its effect stated is based upon the number of models in the unit, not the number of models with a valid shot.

Err... so if I place the blast marker one place I can se where it scatters and then "konga line" 6 stalkers shooting with the first?

They're special. You only need to have 1 guy in range, and then you roll for each stalker.

Mind you the way the "entombed beneath the sand" is written means you can pretty mutch place it anywhere and stack the stalkers one wide and shoot anything you want when they come in.
