Shas-O
- TL Missile Pod
- Shield Generator

2x Crisis Suit, each with the following load out
- TL Missile Pod
- SinglePlasma Rifle

1x 6 man FW squad
- Devil Fish

2x 6 man FW squad

Totals 499 points

I designed this to wipe the floor against my own DE (list building for friends ftw), in which I'd be using a triple venom threat (haemy with blaster born & 2 small warrior squads). I can't see it doing too well against Guard or Orcs, though like I say it was kinda spec'd to destroy me - what do you think?

Cheers

Si

Would really appreciate some feedback folks!

The 'O is bs5, so twin linking is a waste. The shield gen is overkill as well, as he should be buried in a squad. The only time it would matter is against the blasters, which should be shot from distance, or be taken on chump crisis. An el fireknife would do much better.

The plasma rifle on the deathrain suits is not needed either. Flamers would be a much better hardpoint to burn troops on foot.

Investing in the devilfish is a good idea. Target array, a missile system, multi tracker and d-pod makes it something that can shoot apart any unit in the DE list. The d-pod might be optional, as blasters are fairly short range so they will probably close within 12".

Just on army builder, and it won't let me add a flamer to the deathrain build (I have it with TL missile pod, drone controller & 2 gun drones like you suggest). Is this an AB fault, or is itsimply not possible?

Oh, well deathrains can have the 2 gun drones, but I was implying taking a flamer instead of the drone controller. You cant take all of those unless you are a team leader, vre or such so you could hard wire the drone controller.

Gotcha

One thing I haven't said is that this list has been built in preparation for a 1v1v1 game, in which he'll face my DE and whatever else we can borrow from a GW store for our 3rd player. As this is likely to be Marines, I figured adding the plasma rifles to the suits would be best so he could pop PA and TDA each turn. Would this not be better than the gun drones which'll only hit on 5's and 6's?

Just curious, why do you see the need to run 3 separate small squads of FW? It seems like they would be more effective in 2 large squads to concentrate fire and would last longer because they wouldn't take a moral check after losing 2 guys.

I hadn't really thought about it like that tbh... I guess it's for 2 reasons

1) I'm used to fielding msu's myself, and kinda default to that whether it's best practice or not
2) my aim was to ensure that if one squad was in combat, there'd still be 2 others capable of shooting out 12 shots per turn instead of 'just' 9

FW msu are horrible don't let the 4+ save fool you, FW go down to everything. Go with a shas'el with mp,pr,ta,hwmt.
