Idea here is that the GK form a solid base of fire with 3 scoring units (GM makes pallies scoring). Pedro and crew bring 3 more scoring units in drop pods. The SG would drop near the enemy lines for disruption/alpha strike; the tacticals can either drop for further disruption or onto remote objectives. I've always liked the idea of pods and Pedro and I think this matches well with the direct fire support brought by the GK base. Thoughts?

I would not split the combi weapons up so much. With 9 guys your cant combat squad and that makes them bad as when you drop they will all have to target the same thing.

Defintely put 1 more sternguard in the unit. Marine DP's are 12 capacity so you can still have cantor and the sternguard in 1 pod.

I like 5 combi melta, 2 combi flamer, 3 combi plasma.

You can drop by a transport, combast squad, shoot the transport, then fill all the guys inside with the other 5 man team.

Thanks for the advice, Icelord. I like your idea for the SG setup by combat squadding and equipping an anti armor squad and anti infantry squad. I'll take that suggestion into consideration!

I would second Ice lord's suggestions, but would add that it would be better to use more sternguard instead of two tac squads. Even trading in one tactical for 5 sterns in a pod plays to Pedro's strengths and gives you another hard hitting unit. Plus, If you have more than one pod you get to decide which one hits first round, as against some armies it would be a waste to drop Pedro and Boys on round one without backup. I'm reffering to hordes or bubble wrap guard armies here. Pedro would have no room to deploy near the optimal targets and you'd be stuck throwing the unit away or deploying them on your side without the pod. The second pod gives you a cheaper throw away unit (or deploy on your side) and would allow you to delay the big stern strike till there was room for them to be effective (ie have your backfield make some holes!).

Just my 2 cents
