In the warp, searching for Marbo

I wanted to make a tank army because...just sometimes you need to have a crap ton of tanks to put the fear of the God-Emperor into your opponent. So, after listening to some advice this is what I came up with. Was going for a TAC tank army.

UPDATED. I changed around the tanks. I also gave the Vets missile launchers to be a bit more flexible, and to have something to shoot flyers with.

1500 Pts - Imperial Guard Roster

HQ: Primaris Psyker (1#, 70 pts)
1 Primaris Psyker,

Troops: Veteran Squad (11#, 185 pts)
7 Veteran Squad, Plasma gun x3
1 Veteran Heavy Weapon Team, (Missile Launcher)
1 Veteran Sergeant,

Take a CCS always.

Don't squadron your lemans, and definitely don't squadron lemans of mixed types. I wouldn't bother with camo netting either.

If you drop all the camo netting, you almost have enough to bring a 5th russ, which would be better.

Better yet, if you dropped them all, you could straight-up give everyone multimelta sponsons, which would be even better still.

Also, ordnance russes aren't the business anymore, and an exterminator is better than a battlecannon against virtually everything and at the same price to boot. I'd also drop the demolisher. You've already got enough plasma guns, and if you have multimeltas on the tanks, that will be covered as well. The only thing you'd be missing out on most of the time is the anti-vehicle, which a vanquisher or exterminator will be able to handle, and for cheaper. Which will give you the points to pack in some lascannons everywhere, which will make you even better off against the kinds of targets you want the demolisher for.

If this is a competitive build then you definitely need some Vendettas. I would not leave home without 2 even at 1k. Vanquishers are just not great. It is a BS3 single shot that most armies don't care so much about anymore. I could see running one with Pask in a casual list though. I think mixing LRs with barrage tanks is the way to go, but if you want to spam russes go for it lol. They are still beastly.

May the WAAC and pretzels be with you.

This isn't a competitive list. Just trying to build something that gives me a decent (70%ish) chance of a win in a casual game. And cuz...tanks!

In that case you Pask with a Vanquisher :-). It will make for some fun moments and be much more effective.

leman russes are now heavy, not lumbering behemoth. That means that they lost the ability to fire any weapons at full BS when they fire an ordnance weapon. Simultaneously, they gained the ability to move 6" and fire everything.

This means that sponsons and hull weapons are the deal with russes now. Deals that the main cannon of ordnance weapons causes to snap fire.

Personally Allaros I think Russes fell a notch because barrage is so damn powerful. Sniping models, limiting the effects of terrain, and not having your tank in LOS are all great attributes to arty/arty tanks.
