And here we go, the Cataphractii is complete.

This is the initial test model of six total. Feedback is very desired on this. There are a couple errors I didn't spot until digital photo closeups, so I've corrected most, just didn't go back and retake the photos. If you see anything PLEASE point it out anyways, as I may have missed something.

Thanks to my GF, the most beautiful woman in the world, who was able to get them in focus when I couldn't. I suck at digital photography.

Not a fan of the red on the weapons. It harkens back to the red period.

I'm confused, though. Red period? I always thought red was a standard weapon color for the Deathwing (and Dark Angels in general).

It is.

I like it, but the paint seems a bit thick and flat.

You need the highlight the green on the kneepads. The red period harkens back to 2nd edition when weapons cases were either red(UM & DA), black (BA), or yellow (SW).

The 'red period' was in the early/mid nineties, GW ordered way too much red paint by accident... sounds like a joke I know but true story lol... everything around that period was red or accented red... 2nd ed days.

To the Terminator, not bad... although, if you were aiming for pre-heresy/heresy, there was no deathwing, they were black armored with red winged swords. If is a modern 40k guy with relix armor, you are good to go though!

Thanks for the feedback to everyone so far. This is indeed meant to be relic armor from the armory. It's counting as a Plasma Cannon as Deathwing Terminators can field them.

I started playing in about '98 (though I'm coming back from a hiatus). So I'm just used to painting all the guns red. I was just maintaining the standard the rest of my army had. I didn't realize it was a specific period with GW.

I picked up new P3 versions of the colors I've been using today. I'll paint up the next Cataphractii with those and see how it turns out and post it here. Every one of my experiences with P3 so far have been that they are smoother and easier to use than the Citadel colors. Even with the wet palette and thinning, closeups still reveal some paint thickness.
