40k mini rule book, page 112, desperate allies:

"Desperate allies are treated exactly as allies of convenience. Furthermore, if your primary detachment is in a desperate alliance, units from that allied detachment are non-scoring, non denial units"

Does that mean that if I take DE as my primary detachment, with GK'sas desperate allies, my DE are not scoring, or the GK are not scoring? I'd suspect GK though the wording is unclear...?

Well, which is your primary and which is your allied detachment? Your allies may not score or deny your opponent's ability to score an objective, you primary can.

Answers right there in the quote, the allied detachment, GK in your example, are non-scoring non-denial
