My jaw hit the floor when I saw the email announcing this.
I immediately purchased a copy for myself and am downloading it now. As much as I've enjoyed the Dead Space games and Bioshock games, they have NOTHING on System Shock 2.

"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks

Heyy now! I thought Bioshock had a deeper story then SS2.

That being said, if you're reading this and have never played it, I think SS2 is one of the greatest games of all time and you should get it.

Cool, thanks for the info.

Bioshock had a better twist, but SS2 had a much better feel to it. The Many > Splicers, that's not even the same league.
The quotes from the SS2. They are fantastic.
If they made SS2 with Bio graphics I'd have a fatal nerdgasm.

Yeah, I bought it immediately, and downloaded around 5 graphical update mods. They all work!

Also, if you have aranaphobia of ANY kinda, download the invisible spiders elimination patch. Otherwise you'll hate the game.

Could you post the links to them?

EDIT:
Has anyone played multiplayer? Is it any fun? What difficulty level is would you propose for one vet and one fist time player? I don't want it to be easy but don't want to have too few manites for both of us.

I've always heard about it, but heard the original ran like death on modern computers. Let us know how it runs on a modern PC, I might buy it out of curiosity.

Loved Bioshock and since everyone says this is superior to that I pretty much have to give it a try

For the multiplayer, it is actually quite easy once you get past sharing every skeric of ammunition. Also, either designate one guy psi-ops and one guy rifleman, or do a rifleman/heavy combo.

Its an utter classic but hasnt aged well Im afraid.
Replayed it last year and its a bit clunky and sluggish.

But if cheap go for it, have very happy memories of it back from when.

I wonder if anyones Gfx/engine modded it ala Deus Ex 1 etc?
