So I havnt played a game yet, will be next week. I need some help making a decent list to go against Germans (steriotypical Nazi's list with Tigers and Panzers I believe)

Churchills x3
Artillery HQ

Getting Britsh side of Open Fire x2

It doesnt seem like enough, but then again im just starting and from what I read Artillery against Germans is pretty good.

any other suggestions on what to get? Rifle squads 8x 25 pdrs... Any Tips will Help!

Do you have a list you are building against? Find a list and make an army before you go buying stuff, or you'll end up with things you can't use.

Its was a box set with three typhoons, I didnt see singles there and it was a steal for 50% off.

The guy that Im playing against and I both agreed on no specific lists, not for now at least.

I would say im going up against: Tigers, STuGs, and panzers, and alot of Genediers.

I dont know for sure, not till I play him once, or twice.

I also Have some Anti Tank Artillery, i believe 6 pdr

What kind of list are you thinking of running? Infantry, Tank, Mech, etc?

Mainly Tank, but I dont think that that would hold up against a German Tank list

British tanks can now have some the highest anti tank in the game!

But the new market garden book, from that go for the Irish guards (with your 2 open fire sets you'll have HQ and 2 platoons of 2 shermans and 2 fireflies)

Churchill are sadly a bit out of place in that list, but air support works, as do the US para's from open fire.

Add in some 25pdr artillery and I think you have a good starting list

Yeah I just got done looking at the Market Garden PDF at FlamesofWar.com

I almost have everything in that list for the 11th Armoured Division

Do I need to follow the Organization chart and only use what listed for that list. Because it looks like the 25 pdrs are not availble...

There is also other lists avaible, can I choose any one of those? and what about my opponent does he need a list from the coensiding book also?

You can use any 'late war' book vs any other, but yes you have to follow the organisation chart.

That PDF has been updated in the new book 'market garden' you can use the PDF but the points are a little off now

A list from the new book (Irish guards)
Hq and 2ic Sherman with

Platoon 2 shermans, 2 firefly

Platoon 2 Shermans 2 firefly

Platoon 3 sections US paratroopers

Platoon 4 25pdr guns

Platoon guards scout patrol (3 universal carriers)

Limited air support

1760 points

Or drop them to 11th armoured for 1730 - enough points for some .5 call self defense AA guns

If you can, use Reaver's list. Your hammer units are the tanks. Use your scout patrol (assuming it's recon, I'm not completely up on Brits) to remove Gone to Ground on the German infantry. Follow it up with an artillery barrage. Use your infantry to sit on your friendly objective. The 50 cal self defense AA guns likely won't be much use as German likely only have sporadic airsupport.

And here comes the obligatory "Hey I am the German player, how should I go about countering what he plans to do against what he thinks I am planning?" question.

Depends what list you're going for?

A couple of things I've noticed playing against Germans

1)negate the AT 15 by using Stug's and Panzer 4's (AT15 will destroy you but you're cheap in return)

2)Park 40's and Flak 36's ruin allied tanks

3)Allied players will not assault grenadiers with panzer fausts

4)smoke! I prefer mortars for the extra roll to range in or nebs

So a rough grey wolf grenadier list would be

HQ and 2 IC fausts and a shrek
2 Platoons of grenadiers with HQ Faust
4 Small mortars
3 Pak 40's
4 Pak 40's
3 SD Kfz 10/5 (AA unit)
5 Panzer 4 H's
2 Flak 36's

You only need one. Sadly some pdfs and books still list multiples so this mistake is made very often. Ive got some people that just started and all of them bought multiple flyers. Luckily they were getting the zvezda flyers so it wasnt that much of an investment

Yea fausts wreck face.

Havent ran a pak 40 yet but i think I should after reading this. The flak 36 just rips tanks a new one cuz it can Totes gonna take those again in the future.

That is a lot of guns for the grenadiers I like it.
