This is my first attempt at Creating a Scout Army List for my own DIY SM Chapter. So please feel free to critique or rip apart. The first list contains all the models I own. I converted Vulkan and Cato.

If the point costs decrease for the scout and Tactical Squads in the 6th Edition C:SM coming later this year from the rumor mill and the addition to sky-fire missile much like the new CA. Then that's what I'm going to add as well as the rumor of a dedicated transport for the scouts. The List below is an alt version where I drop the 5 man Sternguard unit for more scout bikes in which I can combat squad in the field.

The campaign I am making this list for is limiting each player to one named character. Its pretty much sad face on my part but I guess we'll see how it goes, the list isn't final and I'm attempting to make it fluffy and viable at the same time. What da ya'll think?

I guess if you are going to go sniper heavy, I would burn my named character on Tellion and go with GK allies to get the sniper assassin. Other than that have fun. Another thought would be TFC to get the techmarine to bolster your defenses.

I'm assuming the scout squads combat squad so they can go in the Storms. Units in the storms should be bolt pistol and combat blade for the extra attacks and stick as melta bomb maybe on the sergeant.

Scout bikes are good for the cluster mines and movement, but the big squad you're spending 260 pts on is not worth it in list 1.

A Telion scout sniper squad is just crying out for an ADL and quad gun.

TFC with techmarine to bolster defences could also work here.

Couldn't see the point of Vulkan in the first list and why a chapter master in the second? You're paying for the orbital bombardment and would otherwise be better off with a captain, or maybe a librarian.

@ ruminator- To answer those statements are.

I combat squad the Scout Bikes for harrasment purposes.
The TFC was a thought, but to me it didn't match the fluff, plus I get skyfire with the dark Angels Scout Squads.
Vulkan gave me rerolls for my Melta weapons especially on my speeders. As for Lias Issodon from Imperial Armor 9, his chapter tactics change combat Tactics to Stealth USR, i.e adding +1 to jink, etc; plus his other abilities are nice. ( I suggest checking out Imperial Armor 9-10) FYI Veteran Sergeant Haas is freaking awesome as a tactical squad upgrade.

Oh I whole heartingly agree my friend. The GK option came to mind with Inquistor Cotez with henchmen in psybolt assault cannon razorback in toe, but that wouldn't be fluffy for my raptors.




Thanks for the tips. ya'll, man I'm going to try and persuade the tournament organizer to let me have Telion and Cato in my army, they would have been a great addition.
