I was wondering how this would work, as my friend plays DE and has this happen all the time.

Transport blows up unit fails a pinning test but also losses so many models it must take a moral check which it fails. So it then falls back but next turn can regroup and do everything normally????, which imo would negate the pinning test he failed and i don't understand that.

If you are forced to move such as falling back you ignore the effects of pinning.
