I would advise dropping a unit of warriors for an anihillation barge for more high strength fire power, I mean you're covered for anti tank with all that guass+scarabs but thats a lot of str4 ap5, if you come up against anything tougher than basic marines you're gonna have a hard time.

Hmm..I didn't think about that I'm fairly new to the game and from what I've seen of some necron battles alot of guass effed up some armys.

I'd agree that gauss is great, but, you don't have anything lond range, I think that is the problem more than strength. I think an anihillation barge would really help you out

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high

I'd actually drop the storm and despair Crypteks to grab another Annihilation Barge. For 90 points, that value just can't be beat. Grab a 2+ armor save for the OL, then grab immortals with whatever points are left over

Welcome fellow Phaeron, as the others said (and they are most likely more experienced than me) you have a lot of gauss firing around and it surely doesn't help to have some different and/or more powerful than the standard flayer.

Personnaly I field a Doomsday Ark, it looks good and with str9 ap1 at 72" you have a one shot per turn beast. I also have some wraiths (1x whip coil) to divert infantry whilst the warriors smash them from the side.

Also in my experience I haven't had need to fully upgrade my Crypteks, at 1500pts I try to keep my list chap but larger...as a rule I take the Veil of Darkness for my Desptek and the MSS + Phaze + Semp weave for Overlord.

Mate thought he'd charge my overlord without realising his 2+ save and 3+ invul LMAO oh how I laughed as his chaplin couldn't land a hit and died
