Hello all,

While I still await my missing sprue from GW for my DV box, I've been doing some reading and browsing. I've noticed some pics of a SM Dreadnought with what appears to be HK missiles on its shoulders and everything I've read shows Dreadnoughts to be vehicles. I've asked a relative to look in his DA codex and he stated that under the vehicle upgrades you can buy HK upgrades for X points. Aren't Dreadnoughts listed under Elites - would they therefore be able to get HK's as they're under vehicle upgrades? Also, are any of the HK points listed for EACH HK - so in this case it would be 2x the upgrade cost for 2 HKs on the dreadnought model?

If DA dreads can have HKs I may look at adding a Dread to the DA DV army as a start

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Starting "anew" - 5000pts - oldskool models
Slowly but surely - almost 2500pts?
Small but taking their vitamins - 2500ish?
daemons roar - 3000ish ?

Oh fliers - how thou hath ruined the game

Where they are bought in the FOC has nothing to do with what they can take as upgrades. It will say in his entry if he can buy it as an upgrade or not.

Vehicles can technically be in any FOC slot, depending on the codex.

The Grey Knight Dreadnought for example simply can't take hunter killers.
That doesn't mean other Dreads can't. I don't really know if they can or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if some could.

Dreadnoughts are vehicles.

If there is an entry for a HKM on a dreadnought you have to pay for each HKM you are allowed to take.

Some codexes have Dreadnoughts as Elites. Some codexes have Dreadnoughts as Heavy Support. Some codexes have Dreadnoughts as Troops. Some codexes have Dreadnoughts as HQ.

You can take a HKM if the Dreadnought has the option to take a HKM as listed in whatever codex you are using. This is not a question we can answer, as, if you are using DA, it will be listed in the entry for Dreadnought in the Dark Angels Codex.
