I only ever used that character once in a game. I think she came back twice after 'dying', really tipping the balance
It's not the easiest thing to assemble or paint, but still fun!
Celestine is the best warlord in the game right now.
As for assembly, I had to pin the crud of her to make sure she doesn't fall apart. Either way, looks great!

what does the back look like under the cape? is it modled as well or is it just a straight piece that you cement to the flat part of the cape? I never been a fan of the cherub cape, even though you've painted it nicely, i like the Winged conversions I ve seen of her.
Your metal on her power armour is esquisite. I love the shading and the detail work. I just wish she wasn't made of metal.

Celestine is three pieces to make the cape. Body > Little Jump Pack with Halo attached > Cape.
I find the best way to handle it is to drill a hole in the cape and body and drill through the jump pack, then pin the three together.

Yes, that's what I ended up doing
The cloak is all freehand, done with the usual emblems and designs that I put on all my Inquisition stuff

I love the base. You went with a darker color scheme, which is very different. (Most Celestines I've seen use white-gold-red rather than black-gold-red) I think it gives your model a very unique flavor. The Inquisitorial seal on the back is friggin AMAZING! Great work.

What colours did you use for the gold? The tone you achieved here is perfect.

Bloody amazing work. It's smooth, it has nice free hand and nice choice of colours.
I'm recently getting into glaze painting. Did you use glazing?

Absolutely flawless. And on an old pewter model no less. It's perfect.

It looks like my post here didn't go through, so let's try it again...
Many thanks for all the kind words! Yes, lots of glazing used here, primarily on the golds. I started out with a taucept ochre, and lightened that with a yellow white, all the way to my lightest colors. I then did a series of glazes to darken it, tinting the gold different shades along the way. If I wanted it warmer, I would use sepias and purples, if I wanted the darker colors to be cooler, I would mix in black and green. I then went back into the middle tones to create some reflections, etc.
For the reds, I started out with scab red and regal blue, which was darkened with a few glazes. I worked back to scab red, and then started to blend in vomit brown. That got the color lighter, without it getting to pink!
Here's a few blog posts with red and golds:

One way to make things easier is to practice the patterns on a piece of paper somewhat to scale, that will let you plan it out more efficiently. Also, you could do a bit of pencil marking on the surface to give yourself a few key points where to position the curves...
