I've using the GW thick plastic glue but I'm finding not too brilliant losing arms now and again,I tend to use a little just to tack the model into a pose now.

What other options are there? there must be something better? available in the uk only please!

Yes, use that or 'Revell Contacta', comes in a blue bottle with a metal tube to apply the glue. They're the best plastic glues out there.

Thanks great pointers, do either of these work on finecast or is that a superglue only?

Finecast is not polystyrene and thus will not bond with ANY plastic glue. You will need superglue to bond Finecast.

Tamiya extra thin plastic cement is great for me, but as Todosi said you need superglue to bond finecast.

I use a glue called Plastruct Plastic Weld. It works great on plastic models and works like the Tamyia Extra Thin stuff.

I also recommend using Gap filling Superglue, though a little does go a long way.

I use Ambroid Pro Weld for my liquid cement, and Revell when I want a thin gel.

The GW cement is horrible.

Pro Weld will stick polystyrene, ABS and acrylic.
