Hi guys,
Right after getting some good feedback with regard to how much my painting is improving i want to move on to another area Basing. In my box i have sand , flock of a few different colours, ballast, gravel, tree bark , plywood, card board, and i will be purchasing some cork soon. My question is what have you guys got for basing? Are there any undiscovered ( for want of a better word) materials that our under used? Are there any gems you have up your sleeve? Be good to here what other things people use ( wire mesh?) when constructing a bases. Cheers. dreadful tom

If you're doing outdoor bases I would go to hobby lobby and go to their model train section. They have a nice assortment of flocks, gravel, pebbles, and underbrush materials that are rather realistic. They also have any basing grits that you could want, I am particularly fond of the undergrowth plants and synthetic water effects they have

You could use bits of chopped up sprue as urban rubble. Other than that, you seem to have covered most of the bases (oh no, didn't mean to pun, but there it is).

Plastic-card could be of use as well.
