Actually been meaning to ask an eldar play how the rules for fast shot are worded, could you use it to fire an Icarus lascannon twice?

Indeed you would. Dark Reaper would get 5 shots on a quad gun, and 2 on Icarus Lascannon, but you cant use crack shot in the same turn. But yes 2 twin linked lascannon shots, pretty dirty

Well Fast Shots says he adds +1 shots when firing his weapon. So if the Icarus Lascannon counts as his weapon in that case then yes.
Either way where are we talking about having the ADL? The Fire Dragon's range isn't much use standing still usually. Tank Hunters is also helpful though if the target is AV10-11 you could ping it to death with Reaper snap shots as with their range they could join in on any target you hit with the Quad Gun.

Indeed, I like the synergy that the dark reapers bring with their Reaper launchers but, a crack shot exarch should be able to bring down enemy fliers reliably. I guess im torn between the 2 lol.

Without having seen it in action I thought Reapers with a Lascannon and a Fast Shot Exarch would be the way to go as a purely anti air unit it is probably better (hurts the AV12 fliers better, which are the biggest threat). However after seeing how effective the Crack Shot/Tank Hunters Dragons are I have changed my mind.
A couple of things to remember, first of you won't always be shooting at fliers, and against light vehicles and infantry the Quad Gun is far superior. There are a large number of units with 4+ saves that you can just delete with a Quad Gun, Hive Guard and Biovores for instance just get chewed out by them and stuff like Guard Heavy weapons teams get wiped almost every time (3 wounds kills the squad with no way to get around it). Don't underestimate the power of a long range weapon that ignores cover. Secondly without any way to split fire anything the Quad Gun/Lascannon shoots also has to be the target for the rest of the unit. For Dragons this isn't an issue as they won't have range anyway, but with Reapers you lose a big chunk of long range anti MEQ shooting. The different FOC slots you are using also plays a part, Dragons come from Elites, and are really the only unit in the slot that can be easily integrated with other armies - Banshees and Scorpions are terrible, Harlies require a whole bunch of support units and Wraithguard should only be considered as troops. Reapers on the other hand are heavy, which means you lose out on any of the decent units in that slot, most notably War Walkers who can bring a whole heap of shooting and make a nice target for Guide from the inevitable Farseer (with Warding) HQ.

The Fire Dragon Exarch can also use both his powers at the same time, the Reaper can't.
They are also a little cheaper.

Icarus lascannons are not twin linked.

Executing Exarch

You might want to check whether fast shot will work with the guy's running the tourney.
In the Eldar codex it say's the exarch can fire 'his' weapon and there is an argument to say that the only guns that count as 'his' are the ones you buy for him.
I don't agree with it,but I dothink you should check first though. Or just use a fire dragon exarch -His rules are better and there's no room for arguments.

Thanks for the replies folks, appreciate it. Im thinking im going to sit the Fire Dragons behind it and let the exarch blast away on the Quad Gun.
I made an army list with that includes would love some feedback. Here's the link to it. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/508606.page

Well, I'd take the Fire Dragons since they are much cheaper. Dark Reapers are anti-meq and this is what they should be game-wise. Otherwise, you'll waste shots.

I'll go for the FD Exarch manning the Quad-gun too.
Basicaly this dude hits on 2+ &reroll (TL), ignores Coversaves (Jink and Evade are coversaves) and rerolls his Armor Penetration rolls (even when glancing, if you decide to).
All this for less point that the DR Exarch.
The only issue here, is that you have a full FD squad basically standing without acting, since the range of their weapons is so short. Meatshield is their name.

IMO, having a bunch of bored Fire Dragons hanging out in the back is a perfect deterent for DSing Terminators and other stuff. I would even consider using the flamer for the Exarch as a back-up weapon, since it is a free upgrade. Oh? Your all bunched up? Here are some melta gun shots and a Str 5 heavy flamer. Enjoy!

2nded.
Although I prefer the firepike for the exarch - just for the half range melta rule. Half range for the firepike = 9"...
And against BA, take the icarus lascannon. Str 7 doesn't cut it against av13 baals and av13 deep striking dreads. Or av12 storm ravens - I'd rather take 1 roll with the icarus and hope to do some actual damage.

Thanks for all the feedback, Im going to run the FD squad with the flamer, just in case some people try to get sneaky but my intentions are the for the QG to just be shooting fliers and if there's none left, any pesky units I feel need to die, as for other armor, my 2k list has plenty of lances to pop enemy ground armor, 2 ravagers, a voidraven (2 S9 lances) some heat lances and some wyches on top of plenty of blasters/ Dark lances.
