Bought the Assault on Black Reach set 'cuz thats what they had at the store. I bought some cheap paints at hobby lobby (actually not that cheap, i found) and then realized that I probably needed to get the real deal since I'm such a noob painter and I am NOT going to outsmart GW yet.  So I gave GW a lot more of my money.
I am really enjoying assembling and painting my minifigs, even though I suck at the latter. Still, I'm please with my early results (just painted most of 18 Ork Boyz with some detail work left to go) but I might wait on the crapload of Citadel paints I ordered to arrive.
Anybody in Athens playing with toy soldiers? Hit me up.

I've learned a lot from the game by reading the rule book and watching online battle reports. You can several on youtube and at Miniwargaming.com
