I've posted about One Pound Wargames and MechaWar elsewhere, so shan't clog this thread with links. If you're interested in 1£W, HorizonWar or Precinct Omega, then apply your Google-fu. This thread is to showcase some painted minis that I've finished for playing the game, or for playtesting forthcoming additional components. I've got lots to come, but to get us started, here are two squadrons of EM4 plastic mechs that I've painted for a client and an enthusiast of the game:
Medium Mechs
Light Mechs
The brief was for a "modern military" look, with three-colour camouflage and limited unit markings. They are members of the Longknives mercenary company, currently in the employ of the Jade Caliph. Mostly staffed by Arabic speakers, the Longknives uses Arabic numerals as unit designators, with number "1" indicating the squadron leader. The Medium Squadron leader is additionally equipped with a Command upgrade indicated by the antennae on its back.
More to come.

Here are some light infantry minis for HorizonWar that I've just finished:
These guys are from Brigade Models, sold at 24 for £2.55. The bases include a selection of heavy weapons and a commander.
I'm going to post some pics of the Angel Barracks offerings of the same sort of troop type, when I've taken some better pics of them.

I completely forgot that I started this record of my painted 6mm stuff, so I thought I'd better get it up to date.
First, let's start with my (nearly) finished army:
This was built for playing the latest volume of HorizonWars, BattleGroup ( here's a link to the beta rules).
Here's a scale shot with the EM4 mechs from earlier:
The games are entirely compatible and you can even include air support (or play separate air combat games) with the additional AirFrame rules.
The infantry with the mech, above, are from Angel Barracks, a great new UK company doing high quality 6mm sculpts - a little more expensive (just a smidgen) but worth it for that extra detail. But these are the airframes I use - the "universal spaceships" from EM4 which, IMO, look much better as atmostpheric flyers:
More to follow!

I promised more and here it is. These are more products from Angel Barracks:
0
These are the first three of his OKI range of 6mm terrain, all themed around the idea of SF colonial expeditions. They did suffer from really, really tiny bubbling on the medium and large ones, which was so tiny I didn't even see it until the base coat started going on. So I've disguised it with smoke and blast damage with the idea being that any pitting still visible would count as bullet or shrapnel damage.
And this is Angel Barracks's mobile command centre:
This vehicle is actually assembled in three pieces, with the rear section and the MLRS being separate from the main vehicle. In HorizonWars, this can either run as a superheavy vehicle if taken in toto, or I can separate off the back section to act as an objective marker which the front piece is either an artillery piece (with the MLRS) or a light cavalry or mobile infantry element (without the MLRS).

Something a bit different, now:
These are technically 6mm Crusader miniatures (heavy infantry) from http://15mm.co.uk, but are actually closer to 10mm. Still, they are really well sculpted and cast, with excellent detail and proportions.
I'm trying to make two armies in each of 6mm and 10mm, and these are part of the first 10mm force.

I do love cool looking mechs! Those 15mm troops must be so hard to paint and you even gave them highlights

They're actually surprisingly easy to paint if you stick to a limited palette and keep your paints thin. You need a steady hand, but if you're comfortable painting edge highlights at 28mm, the principle is identical at 6mm or 10mm.

Another base from 15mm.co. uk
I took this picture in my lunch hour at work, hence why it's not up to my usual standards.
These guys are light infantry. They have a nice paramilitary/riot police look to them that would suit a blue our urban camp theme, but I've already got a blue army, so these guys will get the red theme.

Here's a better shot of the light infantry, also with a second base, now. The guy at the back of the base on the left does, indeed, have a crest on his helmet. It's a bit silly-looking and spectacularly impractical in so many ways, but a jolly good way of easily designating a CHQ, so I left it there.
And here's the first finished platoon of heavy infantry (crusaders):
Any resemblance to Rogue Trader-era GW space marines is, I'm sure, entirely coincidental...

Finally getting some 6mm love in again. My current contract finishes in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping my next one will start from August, so I should have a few weeks in which to get BattleGroup really finished and out there (oh, and my website functioning again, which is annoying).
Anyway, here's a light command walker from Baccus 6mm:
Apparently, something interesting is about to happen with Baccus's SF range, "Command Horizon"...

Seeing as we're talking Baccus SF and someone might be wondering just what these minis look like, close-up and with a half-decent paintjob, here's a shot of the heavy gravy tank:

Here's a shot of those two minis with the first infantry stand I've finished from Baccus. This is a really nice AT launcher base which I run as a recon element in HorizonWars:

*Precinctomega casts "Raise Dead"*
I've been doing lots more 6mm stuff since I last visited DakkaDakka:
Some terrain from Gregster's Lab:
And some I made myself out of old jewelry boxes:
And some more from Brigade Models for my desert board:
And some painted stuff:
Dinosaurs and Dragonfly Gunships from Microworld:
Some airframes from Brigade Models (L & R) and Wargames Emporium (C):
A quick armoured company+ from Brigade Models:
And a troop from that company given some splinter camo and lighting effects on the antigrav pods:

I don't usually look at this scale but I saw some of your Infinity the other day so had to look, very glad I did. These look awesome mate.
Take a look at 4grounds site, they've just released their new range of mdf buildings for Dropzone, should work nicely with your stuff!

Just realised its 10mm... but might still be worth a look!

Thanks, EC, both for the 4grounds tip and for the compliments.
I wasn't particularly into 6mm, myself. Then I decided to write a set of rules for mech combat and it all sort of snowballed from there.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. This picture is a good illustration of a "typical" HorizonWars force (less airframes). It has a mix of infantry, armour and mechs and elements can be dropped to create smaller lists or manipulated to create a list up to ~30 points (what I consider to be a large game that would take about 2 hours to play out).
