Hey dakka, played a game a few days ago, and I think my opponent may have been over. I know his list from memory, so if someone could confirm my suspicions, I'd be greatful. I'm still trying to get used to my marine army, and i'd love to get a game in where I didn't get stomped on by this guy.

For reference, we played 1500 points, and I feel like this list is reaaaallly heavy for 1500.

If you're remembering it right, I'd say it's in the region of 2000pts. May be higher or lower depending on Master Crafted weapons or not but yeah there's no way it's a 1500pt list.

Can anyone math it out for certain? I'm probably going to have to call him out on it, he plays in the FLGS campaign i'm in, and I wanna make sure I have my ducks in a row.

I just put the list given into an army builder program and it says 1755. Still over none the less.

2040 plus or minus 10pts. the second paladin squad put it way over the top. Are you sure you are recalling it correctly?

Sorry guys! That Second Squad of paladins were supposed to be purifiers. My mistake!

But yes, other than my stupid typo, I guarantee this list is correct.

Ask to see his list, if it is hand-written then offer to put it in a tool for him.

Battlescribe is a great (free) tool, runs on Android phones, and will let you add all of his stuff and then email him the roster for him to print or you can just reference it. It will also run on a laptop, or whatever.

Ah yeah with the purifiers, it's about 1870~ so odds are he is using an 1850pt list.

I've never seen him with a paper list, he usually "calculates" his points out with his phone before games. I will certainly look into battlescribe, that sounds useful

Next time he "calculates" his list make him write every item in it down with added points cost or dont play against him. To be honest ... i wouldnt play against him ever again if i was you. Someone that cheats with point costs will most certainly cheat with everything else too or at least i would have to watch him closely which is not exactly fun.

So my tipp is ... bust him and never play against him anymore in the future.

Was it made entirely clear that you were playing 1500 pts?
I have played an 1850 list against a buddy's 1500 army and we'd both assumed the value of the game. It was a total misunderstanding.

That being said, people who have to cheat whilst playing Grey Knights should be ashamed of themselves. Even moreso than people who just play GKs. lol

I know I had said 1500, maybe he misheard me, but I know he repeated the right number back to me, I dont have the points with my Marines to field and effective 1850 force yet...

Yeah, he's very significantly over.

I never play any one without seeing a list written out with point values next to it.

Got a doubles game vs him and some nids thursday....going to have to closely pay attention to his list, since I can't back out of the game.

In a friendly environment I'd just say lets play 1500 and when he breaks out that Los tell him you think it's over the point limit and go over it with him. You should be able to tell from his reaction if he was cheating or just made a mistake.

In a competative setting take the issue to the judge and let the judge deal with it.
