So lately, when buying movement trays for WOTR I usually get a couple of bad ones. They look OK in the package, but when I try to set them flat onto a surface one corner sort of rises up. It is a bit annoying since bending them a bit with my hands does not seem to correct the "bend" in the tray.

Have any of you run up against this? Is there a solution to put these trays right? It's occurred to me that I could find something flat (like a tile), measure the right size, and glue the tray to that... but I don't fancy the idea of having to go and do this for all my trays so that they will all match. Plus once I start messing around with tiles I may as well just start making my own movement trays.

Ideas? Experiences?

Many thanks.

I don't know how helpful this is or whether it will actually work, but the way I was told to fix finecast was to gentelly heat it with a hairdryer (not too close maybe from about a foot away) for a few seconds and then bending the plastic slightly. It might soften the plastic just enough to allow you to bend it into the correct shape without breaking.

Hope that helps

I think that's worth trying. I'll give it a go. Although the bases are not finecast, sounds like nothing to lose.

Uh, don't fix them. Not yet at least. Call up the 1 800 GW number, complain about it, and GW should be replacing them free of charge. Then you fix them up.

But yes, call GW and hold them to the high standards of a "premium" service they provide. GW customer service is top notch and I will be surprised if they don't replace them for you.

Tell them you can't return them, will cost too much in gas to get to the place of purchase, and the bad quality is unacceptable from a premium company.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
