Since Big Mek's are not named like Wazzdakka or Ghazgul I assume you can run two and fill two troop choices as Deff Dreads like you would 2 Warbosses with Nobz troop choices?

Moving to YMDC as it is a Rules query.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Yes, you can take 2 Big Meks and 2 Deff Dreads as troops.

Keep in mind that because they're vehicles, they will not score.

It is possible to create an Ork army without any scoring units.

Thank you I just wanted to make sure, I am at work and do not have my codex/rulebook on me at the moment and the army builder program I am using was having a conflict so I wanted to double check.

They can score if its big guns never tire (actually no i dont think they can cuz they arent heavy anymore)

Never saw any point to it except getting 2 extra armor walls. The few times ive taken a dredd i DIDNT take it as troop because i had the heavy slots to spare and i'd rather have more random grots walking around lol

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Yeah, because of the big guns mission, if you have the slots you're far better off taking them as heavy support, just in case you roll that mission.

Back when Kan Wall was ridiculous, you took the 2 Dreads as troops so you could fill your heavy support slots with Kanz.

Last year at Adepticon there was a team called "Table or Tie", because the only way for them to win an objective mission was to table their opponents. All four players had lists like this, where they filled their Troop slots with non-scoring units.

Adepticon 2015: Team Tourney Best Imperial Team- Team Ironguts, Adepticon 2014: Team Tourney 6th/120, Best Imperial Team- Cold Steel Mercs 2, 40k Championship Qualifier ~25/226
