north of nowhere

Ok I know this is a hotly disputed debate and I thought like the rest of you that Bjorn could not take a drop pod since its not listed, but over the weekend a friend and I played and he dropped Bjorn in a Lucius pattern pod. After I said it wasn't legal, he pulled out the rules and lo and behold, "A Dreadnought Drop Pod is a dedicated transport choice for any type of Space Marine Dreadnought in Space Marine, Dark Angel, Black Templar, Space Wolf and Blood Angels Armies, please refer to the appropriate codex." Since Bjorn IS in the puppy dex is this a legal move since nowhere is it listed he could take a pod?

Not that it matters because given the amount of interbreeding that went on with that lot I'm pretty sure the Queen is her own Uncle.

Lucius drop pods are Imperial armour, you'd need to read their rules there. As it stands there is no way without IA to drop Bjorn in a drop pod.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

It'd be legal, he just can't take a drop pod as a dedicated transport.

The rule says its a dedicated transport.., why would he not be able to take it as one?

I said "Drop Pod", as in, regular Codex Drop Pod. The Lucius Pattern would be legal since IA is basically an addition to the main rules. And if someone were to argue that Bjorn couldn't use one because he's "not a Dreadnought", then that'd mean Venerable Dreadnoughts and Ironclads couldn't ride as well... and that's just silliness.

The rules in Imp Armour Apocaylpse II had it as a dedicated transport option only for Dreadnoughts that could take a normal drop pod.
This was then updated in Imp Armour Apocaylpse second edition to be a Fast Attack choice (no longer a dedicated transport).
I'm not aware of any further updates to this unit.

Currently the Licius is a dedicated transport only in Apocalypse games. In 40k games it must be purchased as a Fast Attack, and then there's no problem sticking Bjorn in them.
