Ok, the local Press Ganger for PP put together a painting tutorial with a former PP Silver level painting winner. I picked up some really cool tips and wanted to incorporate them into my Cataphractii Deathwing. I think this is an improvement, but I want to get opinions of the forum at large. I also switched paints from Citadel to P3 and added Vallejo Glaze Medium (plus water) to the paint to keep it moving more and switched primers from Tamiya Red/Brown to DupliColor Sandable Primer Black.

What do you think?

The lighting is a bit different between the two sets which could be throwing my eye off a little bit.

Having said that the second attempt looks a little smoother?
The highlights are more obvious in the first picture but it looks like there is more light. I would say if the second thing isn't substantially harder to do it is slightly better, but a direct side-by-side of both models in one shot may help.

Gonna be sweet terminators either way

Thanks. It was a quick and dirty picture for Armor B, unlike A where I had some time to set it up.

I think I'll keep working the arms and rest of the armor for B, see what the whole thing looks like together. It's basically become a second set of test armor for the squad.

Ok, I have been working on the second 'test' armor with my new techniques. Armor is done and this time I have the two models next to each other. I stink at taking photos so I have them with and without flash to offer as much detail as possible.

Thoughts on which is better?

Hmmm. Its a hard call. The first is.. warmer? Almost a cream color, the second makes me think ivory more. Second terminator is colder..

Personally, I'm drawn to your first terminator a little more, but both look good.
