it was bad in general the necron should let the grey knight player go first and kill his stromravens with the both nightscythes and barges just them 5 things should bring the ravens downs.they have to go or they will kill everything he has.that is what i do when i play grey knights but now with the new flyer FAQ stromravens are now heavy so he could only bring one more often than not.

tbh scythes do not get a guaranteed kill on those stormravens...

I don't see anything in the FAQ that moves a Grey Knight Stormraven from the FA to HS section. I know that the model was mistakenly moved to that section on the online store when it got added to C: SM, but it has since been put back into the FA section for Grey Knights.

My thoughts are that with some more terrain on the table those wraiths would have been able to do a little more. What has been George's experience with the D Lords? I think he has a really solid Necron list, but those D Lords are a huge force multiplier for the wraiths. Maybe he is trying to make the warlord point harder to get for the opponent? Also, do you think if he would have played the command squad a little more aggressively he would have posed more of a threat to your objective grabbers?

On the GK side, why reserve the dreads? Str. 8 would have either helped pop A Barges or ID wraiths turn 1. I think you gimped your first turn fire power quite a bit by doing this. Perhaps you were trying to protect them from the Scythes and guarantee a first shot on them? Did it work as well as you planned? It sounded like yes and no because you both had hot dice there. Nice job btw. No Coteaz though? I feel like he is damn near an auto include because he is so good against reserve based armies.

I honestly think the Necron player should have worked in at least 1 doom scythe as they would have been a lot better at destroying marines and the psyriflemens. Great report guys!

not sure Doom scythes are not worth their points tbh, if they hit they go big though...

I fight a GK player almost every week. We've currently got Doomscythes banned as its just not fair otherwise. Not so unfair with a couple storm ravens though, especially with the meltas.
Interesting to see a hybrid shooty/assault list from the Necron. I tend to plow all my points in the shooty direction with a good number of crypteks wielding lances. I'll have to proxy some wraiths and give this list a try or two.

Almost exactly the same as my necron list, except I run double destroyer lords (and one less night scythe). Like Living Still said above, their effect on wraiths is huge. I wouldn't even run wraiths without them at all, unless you really need a royal court.

George does normally run a D-lord or 2 this was a list he was trying out. Terrain doesn't really help wraiths all that much given there 3++ save.
I ran the Dreads in reserve as a counter unit to fliers they really seem to do well at this job. Also prescience on a full unit of grey knights with all those force weapons really does a number on wraiths
