Hi!
Here I am with another Khorne themed list as I'm tring to decide how to shape my army

This list is a revisiting of a list from a local forum that caught my eyes for it's simplicity and it's sauciness lol

- Kharn the Betrayer @160
- 8x Khorne Bezerkers, Icon of Wrath, Champion with CCW and Melta bombs @182
- Land Raider, Dirge Caster, Dozer blade @240

- Dark Apostle, Mark of Khorne, The Black Mace @160
- 8x Khorne Bezerkers, Icon of Wrath, Champion with Lightning Claw and Melta bombs @197
- Land Raider, Dirge Caster, Dozer blade @240

- 10x Cultist, 1x Flamer @55
- 10x Cultist @50

- Heldrake, Baleflamer @170
- Heldrake, Baleflamer @170

- Maulerfiend, Magma cutters @125


== 1749

The Cultist will stay in reserve and then deploy on objectives on my side of the board while the Raiders will sprint toward the enemies with the Maulerfiend tagging along

I'm not sure if the LC is best suited for the Champion in Apostle unit or on the one in Kharn unit. I face mostly SM (vanilla, BA, SW), Tyranids, Necrons and Orks

C&C are very wanted and welcome!

so at 1750 pts, you have 18 infantry, two LR, two helturkets and a maulerpuppy? (not counting cultists cause they are squishy and will run very easily) Seems very sparse to me...

Also, why a DA instead of a stock chaos lord? Or no lord and bumping up the zerkers a bit?

yeah that's my concern too.

I went with the DA for is hatred(all) to help the zerkers and for fearless and the LD bubble in case I choose to deploy him with the cultists

I got the dragon and the fiend as a birthday gift so I'd like to field them.

Actually he has 38 infantry.

20 Cultists
16 Khorne Berserkers
2 Characters.

But who's counting?

I revised the core units of the list like this:

- Kharn @160
- 9 CSM, no bolters, CCWs, MoK, IoW, Champion with Power Sword and Melta Bombs @185
- Land Raider, Dozer Blade, Dirge Caster @240

- 8 Zerkers, IoW, Veterans, Champion with Power Sword and Melta Bombs @205
- Land Raider, Dozer Blade, Dirge Caster @240

- 20 Cultists, 2 flamers @100

- HelDrake, Baleflamer @170
- HelDrake, Baleflamer @170

== 1470

From there one I see 2 options:

1)

Add a Chaos Lord with MoK, Axe of Blind Fury, Sigil of Corruption, Veterans for 140 points

Add 5 Havocs with 4 Autocannons and Icon of Vengance for 140 points.
If I drop the Dirge Casters and the Melta Bombs from Kharn's unit (or a flamer from the Cultists) I can add another bare bone Havocs to give the Autocannons ones more chance to survive enemy shooting

2)

No 2nd HQ

Drop Dirge Casters and a Melta Bomb or a Flamer

Add 10 CSM with bolters, no CCWs, one Autocannon, Veterans for 174 points

Add 5 Havocs with 4 Autocannons and Veterans for 120 points


Option 1 will add what I think is more ranged shooting while boosting the Zerkers but option 2 add another scoring unit to place on an objective in my deployment zone (in a ruin hopefully) while adding more firepower

what do you guys think?

As constructive as your comment is, I've highlighted the relevent portions for your understanding.

As for the revised list:

Looks good! I'd go with option 2 and add VotLW to the 10-man CSM squad if you can squeeze out 10 pts somewhere. Also, maybe drop the flamers from the cultists and slap them with Autoguns? Not sure where you are going with the flamers but if you are wanting special weapons go with the heavy stubbers for the range as your cultists really shouldnt be getting into flamer range.

@Klepht: Thank you! The 10 CSM squat already have VotLW, it's that "Veteran" I'll use VotLW from now on

I give flamers to the cultist for overwatch if assaulted. But maybe those points are really more usefull for a couple of heavy stubbers uhmm

I have to agree Klepht about the cultists. They seem like a waste of points when compared to the fact that you could take IG allies and get a small platoon. That would give you more options in terms of weapons (including HWS) and reliable Ld (Commissars).

Unless you can combine squads of cultists and/or give them an option for better Ld (I do not want to put my Lord with a bunch of "mortals"), I wouldn't take them
