I'm building a genestealer cult army, but was looking for some advise as to which codex to use. I'd be looking to convert the following units:

-Patriach (leader)
-Magus (leader)
-Hybrids
-Mercenaries
-Genestealers w/ broodlord
-Some form of transport

Because of the heavy conversions that I'd be doing, I'd prefer the army to be pretty elite, although that's not essential, I'd prefer to use the army book that fit best. At the moment, my ideas are:

-Henchmen GK
This seems like one of the best ideas, with the patriach being Corteaz, the Magus and broodlords as inquisitors, the hybrids being warrior accolytes, the mercenaries being servitors, the genestealers being death cult assassins, with chimeras as the looted transport.
-Tyranids
I was thinking a tyranid prime as the leader, maybe warriors as magus. The hybrids and mercenaries could maybe be represented by termagaunts?
-IG

Any help greatly appreciated!

Genestealer cult armies have been around for a while. As such, there are tons of blogs and articles on them.
Just do a little research and I'm sure you will see ton's of helpful resources out there.

Thanks, I have done a lot of research into them, but can't find much at all on army building, especially with my particular ideas.

In regards to the book to use -- I think you have the right idea with the henchmen GK.
- You can say that the 2+ save that Coteaz has "psychic energy shield"
- Having the options for DCAs lets you bring hybrids that are nasty in the assault. Hell, you can use them as genestealers if you like -- they are both fast and extremely deadly when engaged.
- Having the option of henchmen lets you bring hybrids with guns.
- Being able to bring rhinos lets you bring "Armored Limousine" that were common in the genestealer cult fluff. You can model 2 hybrids hanging out the sides with guns to represent the fire points. You can model the storm bolter as a heavy stubber with the barrel cut short.

Another option is also the Ork codex with IG allies. I know it seems odd, but look.
- Hybrids could be ork boys. BS 2 with a gun fits. Their better in assault.
- IG could be your newly infected. This unlocks the IG weapons like LRBTs.
- Your IC would be a primaris psyker. While not awesome in game, he fits the role.
