I've recently started a rohan army, its my first time collecting lotr so I wondered if anyone had any opinions on my 250pts list.


warband 1


theoden-heavy armour-70pts
6warriors of rohan-2throwing spears,3bows,3shields-46pts

warband 2

captain of rohan-shield, horse-60pts
4riders of rohan-1throwing spear,war horn-74pts

I'd drop the normal captain, since he's not needed and they're not really that great. You can fit all of your models in a single warband. For the points you'd gain, I'd give all your models shields (I'm fairly sure they can all take them) and get a banner. Seriously, never go to battle without a banner, they are very, very useful. I guess you may have a few points left over, so see if you can squeeze in another rider.

Good advice there! You may look into getting someone like Erkenbrand instead of Theoden - one fate point isn't very impressive.

Actually, that's a good point. Erkenbrand is one of the best characters Rohan have access to, imo. His ability to upgrade your Riders, the +2 Courage Horn and decent combat prowess come very cheap imo.
