Starting with mr khorne lord and his harem of chaos spawn babes. It blows my mind how devastating this little group has been in my last few games. Love em.
Moving along to the twin helbrutes. basically stroll along with my csm throwing out the dakkas. chaos gets free flakk missles woot woot
Troops are an area of serious frustration. so If my csm cannot combat squad but can take over 10 then im just going to have big scary seething piles of 3+ sv, multiple attack wickedness.
I hate cultists. so they just chill and sit on their thumbs on home plate. maybe sacrificial bubble shield of hilarity.
The drakes...well you know.... honestly i fell in love with them when i first opened the codex and had a pair in mind from the get go to, you know slash and burn. I'm serious.... really........ok maybe not but they are just so effective right now
The preds seem like a steal for cost to killy ratio.

the thing is that ive only met/played maybe 10% of my local gaming community and it seems that next month's tournament looks to be quite the event with the amount of people projected to participate and I have NO idea what to expect :(

So what are your thoughts on my list esteemed Dakka community?

I would drop the hellbrutes max the spawns and give the spawn MoN and maybe get a squad of havocs with 4x autocannon MoN VOTLW.

Try and give the CSM squads 2x plasma or 2x melta not a mix they have diffrent roles/ranges/focus.

Especially when they are kitted out for Close combat you can't assault after rapid fireing plasmaguns.

I also wonder how you want to deliver them? footslogging?

And 4 scoring units on 2k games seem a bit low to me.

might want to put cultists in reserve to minimise damage taken and then take backfield objective later i nthe game.

Couple of thoughts.

- Footblobs of CSMs can work but they work best with a lvl3 sorc who has invisibility.

- Slight game change plan; I'd put the khorne lord with cultists (drop the MoN and add 10 more for the same costs) and give the spawn the MoN. This way you have more effective spawn and a great fearless blob to advance upfield which protect your lord until he detached and charges something juicy.

- give the blobs Vets of the long war, you don't want those units running off the table.

- Hellbrutes are very, very, meh. I'd drop at least one for the aforementioned sorc.

Your CSM units are really messed up. You have given them close combat weapons but took a plasma gun and meltagun which are ranged weapons. You should just ditch those and go all bolt pistols if your aim is to get into combat or go dual meltas.

Cultists will work really well with a Dark Apostle; re-roll to hit with all them dudes is pretty damn cool.

I would switch the Predators into Havocs as you have more infantry than vehicles. Though the Helbrutes can support them nicely, the Helbrutes do have a shorter range would have to move a bit closer and sort of lag behind the horde.

Only thing you can do is to remove the LC and change them for a second Plasmagun. With the LC, I will use a little Havoc of 2 LC.

My biggest concern is the completely useless mok on the spawn. And think about what those csm squads are doing before you set your hart on that plasma / melta.

You should definitely find a way to get that spawn unit up to 5 if they are planning to stay alive without mon and keep the lord alive.

A sorcerer level 3 with no mark and spell familiar should be nice backup for this list.

MoK on spawn is a joke- it only gives em counter attack as they already have rage lol. silly codex. Take the mon off the cultists its just a waste.

Id go with 2 plasmas or 2 meltass and really with these special weps they dont need melta bombs- def for the meltas and probs for the plasmas.

Theres nothign wrong with having a cc kitted unit and give up the charge to get the rapid fire off then receive the charge, actually i think that can be stronger than trying to make a charge cos you get an extra attack from the overwatch. Also its way easier to set up . Id think about giving them a mark of slanesh and votlw - to maximise that first round of melee, improve their ld tests and that bonus initiative will go along way esp. with the lightning claw champs. Makes a sick unit that can set up assaults for other units and can also handle alot of business itself.

Apart from that i think the list looks pretty good. I dont like helbrutes but they are cheap so if you can keep em hidden or in cover then your looking good. I like the idea of the sorc or even a maulerfiend possibly replacing the helbrutes

And since when was a flakk missile free on hellbrute?
