I came across some Vallejo Matte Varnish at my local Hobby Lobby at lunch today, and I thought about picking some up to try out as a replacement for my Testors Dullcote (which I can only spray outdoors and which might be doing horrible things to me) but I'm wondering if I should be concerned about my airbrush. I read about people spraying matte varnishes and sealants with an airbrush, but will it gum up my brush? Should I get a cheap secondary airbrush just for matte varnish and the like? What do you guys do? And has anyone used the Vallejo Matte Varnish?

The thread in the link has great info. I've used straight Future through my AB for a gloss coat prior to weathering. Comes out fine if you clean it properly. As Future is acrylic based just as the Vallejo is, I imagine it'd be the same. Most Vallejo products seem to have AB's in mind.
Not to hijack, but I wonder if there are good options other than Vallejo, like brands sold in art stores? I'm in a similar situation with Dull Cote. I simply want something to run through my AB.

Windsor and Newton galleria satin varnish. Thin with water and a drop of flow improver and it's bloody lovely stuff.

Does it clean out of your airbrush easily? And have you tried the Galleria Matte Varnish? I have some of that stuff for brushing on some models.

Yeah cleans up easy. Ive even left it in the pot half a day and it still cleaned up nicely. A week, not so much... That took effort and taught a lesson.
