I figured it was finally time to milk this area for some sweet sweet replies.

I been playing for about 9 months now, started like im sure allot of people by getting my hands on AOBR (and then subseuently a ton of parts of aobr kits off ebay.

I play orks and space marines (which I milked the AOBR kit for) and finally tau. Tau were actually the army that I was looking at first, and had it not been for the stater set that game with the rulebook and templates, Id probably be sitting here with just the one army (albeit, I'd probably be allot better at them than I am now). In time at the FLGS I was able to snag that tau starter set (two battleforce contents plus some random additions) for 100 bucks! It taught me tha I hate stripping, but after a few additions, I got a taste of my initial 40k crush

I have no fixed playstyle, and I find myself getting caught up quite a bit in mistakes that are a result of my being in an ork mindset when playing space marines, being in a SM mindset when playing orks, and being so caught up in not trying to be in either of those danger zones when I play tau that I forget to think tactically.

The person who taught me to play was actually a longtime veteran and tournament player from the UK who happens to be married to one of my Girlfriends coworkers. He's a very scary DE player, and in 5th he would trounce me solidly with poison spam againt my ork hordes. It paid off though, cause once I found a casual playgroup at the local FLGS, I got to know the joy of clubbing seals for about ten games before they got wise and sent some meaner dudes after me

I like to think that I have a decently nicely painted army (but my dirty secret is that I paint almost all of my models using auto-primer and hobby paints from the dollar store!)

I like to think that unless I told someone, they wouldnt be able to call me out on it by looking at my army.

The one exception is my tau force, which I primed using army painter and did the colors using a pink from P3.

My big passion however seems to be the converting side, and my first forray into it was copying a very sweet set of bikers I saw here on dakka.

http://imgur.com/a/5csjy

Which I followed up by making these two battlewagons to bring my army count to three (I have one official kit, but shhh)

And I've finally started my way into making HQ's

My first was this big mek

My second was this mega armored warboss

And my latest WIP is a boss on bike worthy of my custom bike nobs (ie; hes gotta be Bigger da Dem')

I also lucked out BIGTIME when I ordered a dakkajet from Puppets war, in that the first kit was miscast, and when I emailed them a replacement was issued, but never mailed, and when I contacted them a second time, a third kit was issued. so I've got a pretty fun fleet of very unique Dakkajets to finish my army off nicely.

*seems I havent got a third picture*

Anyway, thats my story Dakka

Hello!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

I refuse to welcome you under false pretenses. I will however say that your stuff looks awesome, especially the warbike conversion.
