Is the new aircraft compendium worth buying?

I have every codex and the white dwarf's that those aircraft are already in. So, does this compendium change any of those aircrafts special rules? Add new rules? Changes in points cost? Anything that would make it worth buying?

No. You can find the few changes to the Storm Talon with a few seconds of searching, and the rest of the book is just garbage.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Well...only if you want to be one of those people that says they own every single book GW has ever made, just so you can sell them all in 20-30 years.

Other than that, no. It's a waste of money. Nothing really changed either, at least from what I have read. Some rule changes to the Storm Talon, but that's about the only worthwhile thing in the book and you can get that from anyone in a few minutes of searching.

I agree. I cant help thinking that I've read the story at the start somewhere too. The only good thing is the unlock of the Storm Raven. I did feel pretty let down after getting it.

It is really only worth getting if you want a hard copy of the flyer rules that were released in White Dwarf and don't already have the White Dwarfs.

Blood for the bloo... wait no, I meant for Sanguinius!

There are significant changes to the rules for Stormtalon Gunships. Death from the Skies also makes the Stormraven available for Codex: Black Templars and Codex: Space Marines. The book also adds rules for dogfights (optional) and "Fighter Ace" upgrades (not sure if optional), which I believe were previously only printed in the Crusade of Fire campaign supplement. There is a reprinted (and maybe expanded?) version of the fluff story involving the Battle for Cardrim featured in the original White Dwarf issue that presented the Stormtalon and Ork flyers.

Other than that, the compendium adds little information, though it does look pretty. I bought it because my WD issue was getting beaten up and consider it to have been worthwhile, but if you aren't a Space Marine or Black Templars player it seems pretty unnecessary.

Judging by what I've seen here, I'm glad I didn't go and buy it. Thanks guys.
