Ok so I popped into this subforum a while back, and now I am finally moving on with the idea of FOW as a game that I'll pick up, now I've adjusted to moving out of home and stuff like that. So, question time.

1) Are the rules for the Australian Army and British Army from the 'Afrika' book still valid? Or will I need a different book for the british rules?
2) How does this list seem for 1000 points (of which I get 835 because Australians are special, a fact that I love), and is it even legal?

Australian Rifle Company 835 points
Company HQ 30 points

Rifle Platoon 185 points
3 squads, sticky bombs, AT rifle

Rifle Platoon 160 points
3 squads, mortar

Machine Gun Platoon 155 points
2 sections

Anti-Aircraft Platoon 110 points
2 sections

Anti-Tank Platoon 195 points
2 sections, 6 pdr guns

I figures this has some AA, some AT, some infantry suppression and some platoons for bodies on the field. When I eventually increase I will include arty support. But the question is, would I be better off replacing the AA platoon with artillery? Or dropping something else? I'm unsure of just how flexible this list actually is, and would love some input prior to purchases.

Afrika is pretty old now, North Africa replaced it a while back, I think now the whole theatre has been consolidated into one book.

Aussies pay more because their troops are rated higher than basic commonwealth.

You can use the book but there is a more up to date version

IMHO commonwealth forces need artillery

Thanks, I'll be back soon with an updated list based on those 2 points.

Reaver83, do you think the AA platoon is less important compared to some artillery? Or the AT platoon?

AA is a great substitute for HMG's in British lists I think. Unlike other forces you can't combat attach, (bombarding for a pin is useful though!) but if you take AA you can intercept planes and dig out infantry if they don't have any air

Thanks, I think.

I figure no matter what small changes I make, I want to start with a rifle company, so now to buy up a rifle platoon to start and learn to paint tiny...
