As the rest of the group recovered from the effects of the warp translation, Beltayn sprung into action at the merest hint of the perceived threat. Without a word he rolled forwards and took a knee, getting his rifle into his hands in the same motion. As soon as he came to a stop, his scope came up to his eye and his hands steadied in preparation for a shot. The beast came closer but it was not quick enough. With a humming charge, Beltayn pulled the trigger on rifle and let loose a searing bolt that entered its mask's eye slit and blasted it backwards, smoking from the impact.

The creature falls silent as it slams into the floor, Syrath walks over to the creature and drags it back to the group;

"It may be dead but it will do, strange. This could have once been greater than a Adeptus Astartes but now falls to a single bullet, we must go while weak it called for friends and there's allot of them."

Syrath and the three teleport back to the Tau Command ships were the three dazed warriors fall to their knees after the warp jump.

"Lets...not do...that...again. I can't keep...doing that with...mortals."

"We found one of the creatures," Kais says, dusting himself off. "Rather confusing being, but it will do."

The Tau scientists begin their study of the creature, they first remove the armor and begin to dissect the beast using plasma cutters which slice through the thick flesh of the creature within seconds. After an hour at work the Scientists return carrying stacks of reports and pictures of the inner organs and bone samples taken from the creature;

"We are astounded, this appears to have once been of human origin. Male around five years old, most of the internal organs have been pumped full of steroids and combat drugs while bones have been heavily reinforced with machinery. This creatures brain appears to have been replaced by a computer which we are still attempting to hack, all together this beast appears to be a test subject for some form of super soldier and carries the symbol of the Imperium Shas'O."

"Oh my," Kais said, disgusted. "This is terrible, and we are going to do something about it. Now, I want specific origins, certain factions within the Imperium. I want to know who exactly created this monster."

"That is all the information we have Shas'O and whatever information you seek is on that Space Hulk but I warn you, the Warp energy is incredibly high their and can cause...mutations."

Ludias looks around briefly once in the chaos ship, and sees the daemon approaching. He is aware of Bel's manouvre so lets him be and when they teleport back to the Shas'o's ship he is mildly bemused.
"What exactly did you need us all for if you could have just gone in gotten one and then come back?"

"I don't plan things out well, the Employers did do quite allot of that."

Syrath laughs and turns back to the Snipers;

"But if any of you wish to keep you're sanity I'd suggest only Luidius accompany me again, or your going to need allot of will power to fight the warp."

"He will be fine, Long ago I built a warp suppressor into his hood's cusp. he warp wont affect him as strongly. And Bel'tayn is a very strong minded individual."

"Say that when he's twice as tall and looks like a foul monster, be careful not to get attacked from behind Eldar because you won't be able to even hold you're rifle once that suppressor is gone."

Beltayn squints at Syrath and crosses his arms.

"I will take my chances daemon." He says simply and then turns to Shas.

"What you have here, the beast I shot, it seems to me that it may be an experiment of the Mon Keigh Mechanicus if anything. I have not known Imperials to abide by such abominations, perhaps it was the product of more radical sections of the human's empire." Beltayn muses, his head bowed and hand on his chin in thought.

"Other than that I cannot say, but it concerns me little, what I and Ludias must know soon is what you wish for us to do next."

"Good we should leave now, we will warp back to the ship quickly and find what we are looking for."

Syrath places his hands onto the shoulders of Luidius and Beltayn as they begin to warp away.

"This will be bumpy, hold on."

The three fall onto the metal floor of the Space hulk surrounded by several of the mutant creations.

Ludias goes to stand beside his partner
"Indeed. My trigger finger its getting twitchy."
He takes the Immobiliser round out of his pistols chamber and stores it in a special pouch on his bandolier.
He flexes his left wrist feeling more of the tendons heal over and the last scratches on the bone seal shut. my arm is healing niceley, he thinks.

Syrath raises his hands and ignites the mutants with green fire thy at reduces them to piles of ash in seconds;

"Let us move, the objective is not to far from here."

Ludias grunts as he hits the ground but doesnt hesitate. His sword is up and slashing not even a moment after they arrive. Two of the beaasts fall in the first second, anouther two after that. He hears the repeated fizzling crack of Beltayns rifle as it chews through mutant after mutant. One of the Beasts managed to flank him however and springs an immpossible distance away.

Ludias watches in a musement as Beltayn simply ducks allowing the beast to fly over his head. He puts several shots into its unprotected underbelly and the beasts back explodes outwards. Ludias rejoins the fight, and if someone had seen his face they would have cringed. The look of pure hatred on his face was unmatchable.

The fleshy remains of the beasts hit the ground, Syrath leads the two through the steel doorway while the mutants watch through the vents. As they enter a large cargo chamber they enter defensive positions as the mutants approach.

Hack, slash, twist, stab, duck, smash, repeat. Hack, slash, twist, stab, duck, smash, repeat. It was almost a mantra in Ludias's mind as mutant after mutant fell to his sword. He couldnt tell how many had died. Only that they kept coming. So he kept fighting

Syrath sets several mutants on fire while slicing others apart, the mutants begin to retreat realising that they are out skilled completely. Syrath moves forward and grabs the large object in the middle of the room;

"This is the device, we'll take what we need and move."

Something begins to move up on the three, it's far larger than the other mutants before moving towards the group. The blue daemon is to strong, the Assassin is immune but the Eldar makes a fine target. It runs forward intent on ripping apart the Eldar or destroying his shielding.

Ludias sees the Dameon coming and growls in his throat but hes still fast enough for his plan to work. In half a second the immobiliser was in his pistol, up and firing. The shot buzzed through the air and slammed into the Daemons chest. A fraction of a second later the Dark matter consumed his form in a shining black skin.

"I've got what we needed, let's move the warp energy will be increasing. Are you both ok, I do not wish for beasts to attack me."



A large blast consumes the door way as several Las-cannon wielding Chaos marines move towards the group, Coraks stands at the back of the group and points towards them.

"Kill...them...all"

Ludias makes a descision, he kicks the immobilised Daemon as hard as he can towards the marines, the heavy wapons troopers then forced to waste time firing on the daemon to avoid it crushing them. Ludias and Bel' slap Syraths back simoultaneously yelling
"GO!!!"

Beltayn watches as the monster singled himself out of the three to attack, why he was not sure but he did not care, he brought the rifle up more swift than any mere mortal could ever dream and had the space in between the beast's sight before it got to him, his finger, just as it had hundreds of thousands of times before squeezed the trigger slowly until the weapon responded...

With a dry click...

Three things happened fast, almost at the same time. Beltayn cursed at himself for not keeping better track of the power in his rifle's pack, he bought his arm up in a futile defensive gesture because he didn't have enough time to do anything else and just as he prepared himself to feel the monster's hot breath it was frozen and encased in a hard black substance, making it clatter to the floor. Beltayn looked down at the thing, breathed a sigh of relief and reloaded his weapon, at the same time shooting a look at Ludias and nodding to the sniper in gratitude. Despite Beltayn's skill, he wasn't perfect, but he was almost so and so was Ludias and together he was not sure there was a single foe in the galaxy they could not conquer together...

And that, he reminded himself, is exactly why he had befriended the Mon Keigh in the first place...

The three teleport back to the Tau ship where the Daemon and the Snipers stand dazed and confuseed after the sudden attack, Syrath grabs Luidius and looks him in the eyes;

"You are fine however watch the Eldar, something has changed."

Syrath bursts into laughter;

"No I'm joking he's fine but we really should not go back."

OOC: You had me going there for a sec Blood...

Yeah I rolled dice to see what was going to happen next, the other option would be far more messy.

The Tau scientists begin to study the new information, but take time to begin the hacking process but inform the Shas'O that it will take time to do so.

Ludias cleans his sword with the small promethium heater from his tool kit. The super heated flames licking over the steel purged the weapon of its grime. He allowed the weapon to heat only enough to remove the gore so as not to damage the temper of the blade.

While doing this he looked over at Beltayn. The Eldar was looking with an air of annoyance at his rifle. Ludias sighed and went over to him.
"Bel' listen. We make mistakes, all of us do. But remember, everytime we have ever made a mistake the other has been there to make sure it wasnt fatal. Remember the Geanstealer cult on Gyrath? I had not made my usual checks on systems as we went through those tunnels and it nearly got me killed. But you were there and that geanstealer took a shard through its neck.

He claps the eldars shoulder gently.
"We can be sure that we always learn from our mistakes because we have each other to make sure we live through them."
He looks at the rifle.
"Just make sure you count your shots next time hmm?"

Beltayn sighed and then nodded, his head bowed and face set in something akin to loathing, probably of himself. He reloaded his rifle with deft hands and aimed it before looking back up at Ludias.

"You are a good friend, Storm and I am glad to have you watching my back. But I must tell you something. As you already know, my kind in particular is succeptable to the warp, it is a trait we had developed over our course of life and we keep it even now at the twilight of our race. I am afraid and ashamed to say that those quick teleportations through the warp may have clouded my judgement if only for a few moments. Still those few moments were enough to nearly get me killed and for that I am sorry, I was a danger to both of us in those few seconds."

Beltayn stands up and reaches to his necklace pulling his soul stone out and facing Beltayn.

"This event has made me realize something, out of all the perils we have faced together, this one has been the most harrowing for me because of the closeness to the warp we have been, we are in the Eye of Terror, and you do not see many of my kind here for a reason. If this is, Khaine forbid it, to be my last mission, then my essence, my soul will be put in this."

Beltayn says holding up the stone amulet. He lets Ludias see it well, even though the two have long since been friends he had never shown the amulet to his counterpart, he had never shown anyone it out of concerns for his own safety.

"It will go here in order to prevent it from being devoured by the Dark prince of pleasure. If that is to happen, Ludias, you are the only person in this galaxy I would trust to return it to my people." Beltayn whispers furiously convicted. He replaces the amulet and looks back up at Ludias.

"Will you do that for me Storm?" he asks, his voice almost pleading.

Ludias looks at the small stone curiously for a few seconds, his mind turnign over what he had learnt. His lightning fast mind snapped through dozens of calculations and his hand slolwy rose infront of him to grasp Beltayn's.
"Of course I will Bel', Its the least I could do."
He pulls the milsly surprised Eldar into a rough hug
"But dont you dare go getting yourself killed on me."

OOC: Well yeah, I mean he is and Eldar and any respecting Eldar has one on him at all times just in case...

Beltayn grunts as Ludias squeezes him.

"Sure Storm, you can count on it." He says as he wiggles out of the hug lithely. "Not in front of the employer, you're embarrassing me." He said with a smirk and then went back to checking his weapon.
