So, I'm at a crossroads. I was making a list with Canis and the Fenrisians wolves were going to be troops in reserves that are fast enough to come in and hold multiple objectives and maul some face on deep stuck enemies. Then I read on their section SUPERNUMERARY: Fenrisian Wolves, though fierce and possessed of a hunter's cunning, do not understand the finer points of military strategy. Fenrisian Wolves may not claim objectives under any circumstances.
That does seem very very direct but I just need to see if anyone has read anything else saying they could claim when troops instead of FA. If they cannot then what is the point of having them as troops?

To fill two mandatory choices in your list.
They still don't claim objectives even if they are troops as the allowance to be troops doesn't mitigate their explicit restriction on claiming objectives.

Free up fast attack slots, allows you to run more wolves or a fluffy list with all wolves.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Two cheap troops in a list made to murder everything - you either table the opponent or deny him all objectives.

spet! You bloody genious! I did not even consider that. They could still be denial units when contesting an objective. Are cyberwolves worth the upgrade in large squads of them?

Yes they can still contest objectives. No cyberwolves are not worth the upgrade, but it's only 8 points. And the last question belongs on a different forum (go to army lists or tactics).
