Hey guys, I have finally finalised my 1k list and was just checking if you think anything else needs covering.

HQ
Lord with MoN and Power Fist - 105

Troops
7 Plague Marines, 2 meltas, Power Fist - 213

7 Plague Marines, 2 meltas - 188

17 cultists all with autoguns - 94

Fast Attack
Heldrake with baleflamer or autocannon depending upon opponent - 170

Heavy Support
Predator with Autocannon and lascannon sponsons - 115

5 Havocs, 4 autocannons - 115

Total is 1000 on the nose.

I feel I have a good rounded list, what with the PM's being nasty in combat and having a PF in one squad as well as one on the lord. There will be 10 str7 shots from the pred and havocs plus 2 lascannon shots, as well as meltas when they get in range, and 17 autoguns isnt to be sniffed at either. So I feel I have presence in combat, mid range shooting as well as long range. And what with Harry (my heldrake) flying around smashing things up I think it will be a very competitive list.

Simple tactics really, Lord goes with cultists and sit on a back objective and try to deal with anything that comes close whilst laying down mid range fire cover.

One PM squad takes another hoome objective while the squad with power fist go and take on any troublesome units.

Pred and Havocs stay back with 48 inch range popping away every turn.

Harry flies around and simply does what he does best, mess stuff up whilst drawing fire.

Does anyone think anything needs to be tweaked etc? At the moment I only have my PM's, heldrake and my HQ but will be converting an old space marine predator into a chaos one so things can be changed if need be.

Please comment,
James

I'd cut the autoguns from the cultists and drop the power fist in the plague marine squad. With the saved points, I'd give each plague marine champ a power axe instead. Still gives you AP2 attacks but an additional attack and the meltaguns should handle heavy armor.

I'd also try and fit in an inv save on the HQ.

I often play orks and he has a few power klaws which is why I wanted the PF to combat it. But, if I use an axe or sword I'll go first, but probably won't kill the nob with PK, tricky.

An inv save would be ideal but there isn't anywhere I can see myself cutting the points :/

Axe is unwieldy, so your going at the same time as the Klaws, you just get an extra attack due to not having a specialized weapon and instead having a plain old power weapon. If your kinda setting this up to go against Orks, I would honestly suggest the Maul for Nobs or stick with the Axe if your fighting Meganobz.

You want to get Sigil of Corruption? Drop Cultists till you get the points for it. Again, if your worried about Orks, Take Black Mace instead of PF on your Lord or put him in Terminator armor with Black Mace.

I dunno... when you don't spend for the toys, you can do stuff like have Cultists and Havocs. Meltas don't really mix with Bolters but they are cheap Str 8, AP 1. But yet your marines are walking across exposed and are the smart choice on targets (can't score if you have no troops). I think the Pred is solid, and the Havocs are fine till they are shot at. Really wish you had 100pts for a ADL with quad gun for some AA incase your Turkey gets shot out of the sky... your really depending on it. I am just not sure... keeping the list lean of equipment allows for more bodies but that equipment allows you to deal with multiple threats by allowing your guys to do more. It just feals like a glass cannon... your fine till your shot.

How has your list done so far?
