Immotek's weapon along with the Staff of the Destroyer and a possible wargear option for Lords and Overlords. I came across the idea of using these because, well, I think templates (specifically Torrent) are the bees' knees now in 6th.
I know our go-to template has been the despair staff for the Cryptek, but what about this little guy?
I already think the biggest knock against it is that you can't take the Warscythe with it (oh why not GW?!).
But hear me out: For a very low price, you get to reroll your hits AND wounds in CC with a ST5 model (nothing to sneeze at), you get "wall of death" on overwatch, and you can flame dudes behind the defense line/from ruins/area terrain to, you know, win the game in objective missions.
Is there any build where you would use this on an overlord/lord instead of a Warscythe?

I actually like this bit of wargear. Especially for lower point games. Templates are awesome this addition. I do have a question though, where do you seeing torrent for it? I thought it was just a normal template.

I want to love this glove as it gives us one of our very few templates and I have a terrible time hitting with my Lords.
Off the top of my head I would probably throw it on an advanced attack force. Get a squad of immortals in a Night Scythe and back them up with Haywire Crypteks fielding the upgrade that causes damage on a charge and perhaos the Transmog who reduces charge distance as well as a Lord or two with these gauntlets and MSS. This gives you a very dangerous invasion force which you can invasion beam down to a backfield objective. Nobody is going to want to charge them and hopefully you set them down near some good cover. Any thoughts?

Gauntlet of fire wrecks hard against horde armies, however, the thing is...for 5 points more...warscythe.
That is a hard value to beat.
You'd have to tailor your strategy to make the most use possible with your heavy flamer.
Dropping a cryptek of despair, x5 deathmarks, and a lord with a GOF from a night scythe might improve the damage output of the death and despair squads, it'd be wounding on 2's, but its only ap 4.
Gives them a bit more melee durability though.

It's a bit unorthodox but a court of Lords with Gauntlets and Despair teks in a Ghost Arc could be fun. Make one Lord WS/SW for challenges and toss a RO on another. Then cruise around dropping 9 templates on anything that moves: PEWPEWPEW.
