I would like some advice on a list I plan on taking to a 2000 point tournament. It is a BA with IG allies.

Assault squad 10 man with 2 meltas and sgt with melta bombs combat squad so all melta is together.

Any thoughts or ideas will be welcome. The general idea is to shoot and hold with IG while stormraven delivers death company and hq and death dread on their doorstep.

Make the Valkyrie a Vendetta.

If your opponent shoots down the Stormraven with cargo, you lose. Don't use the Stormraven as a transport. Give it a MM instead of heavy bolters.

MLs suck. Don't use them if you have the choice of a better weapon, which you do.

Put the fragnought in a drop pod.

Lose the sponsons from the Russ. The new ordinance ruling makes sponsons useless. See the various and sundry Leman Russ threads for what to actually use.

Due to model restrictions and time my only other choice for the last hvy weapons squad would be 3 heavy bolters.
Would it be better to take a bassie then the russ?
If i did take the libby should i stick him with Death company or somewhere else in the list.

Just use the Russ without sponsons.
A basilish might work too, though.
Libby not with the DC. Not at all.

Drop the hurricane bolters and the melta bomb for a DP for the DC.

I run a 9 man DC with a Resclusiarch and drop it right next to a jucy target. It's not a huge threat but something they can ignore. Run them with bolters so you can rapid fire when you drop. Switch the DC dread for another furioso (AV13>1A)

I run something similar (AV13 mech BA) and find it works very well as AV13+ is tough as nuts now
