Eldar guardians are min squad size 10 models (so 80pts) plus they have to have a weapon platform.

IIRC the shuriken cannon is 5pts so the minimum squad points for guardians is 85 pts.

Chaos Space Marines - Iron Warriors & Night Lords 7900pts

changed it to five dire avengers for 60pts and took off 15pts elsewhere

Grotesques are one of those units that revolve around the "go big or go home" mentality. 3 Grots are hardly a threat. 10 Grots are.

If you want them in a boat - look at getting 7 grotesques + 2 IC's into a Tantalus (Capacity 16). THAT is something your enemy cant ignore and the transport is AV12 front and has a flicker field and enhanced sails as standard. Add a shock prow and your S7 AP2 bladevaning monster is a nasty tank shock.

So far the effectiveness of 10 Wraithblades with Ghost Axes:
Tanked 2 Leman Russ squadrons (including the battle cannons and the triple plasma variant); whilst also getting wailed on by everything imaginable in a Fortress of Redemption. Only to get into CC with the tanks and open them up.
2000 points worth of Necrons with Forgeworld additions. Got into CC with a court of Lords and opened them up.
Killed a GUO.
Killed Angrath the Gargantuan Bloodthirster in an Apoc game (with the help of Iranna the Spirit Seer).
Ate a Hammerhead, pathfinders and scored after 3 turns of walking towards a 2000 point Tau gunline and overwatch!
And counting............

but a tantalus is a forgeworld model that costs over 100$, a raider is a legal model that costs 40$ perhaps I will remove the grotesques

I agree re the expense of the Tantalus but it looks amazing and is well worth it. I am currently in the process of scrubbing the flashing and release agent off mine.

Grots only really work in big numbers - which means you are resulting to foot slogging them. 3 Grots aren't hard to kill, especially with their armour saves. Yes in close combat they're a steam roller but you have to a. get them there and b. have enough to be a steam roller in the first place.

Coven is probably the more finicky of the 3 themes - I find the best way to do it is a big grot unit either slogging, WWP or Tantalus riding; 5 man wrack squads in venoms and 2 ravagers all led by a trio of heamies (and a heamie ancient to be the warlord). And if feeling particularly sassy at say 1999+1 level add Lady Malys to ride shotgun with the grots as getting grotesques that are immune to psychic powers? SURE!

Also with Vect - he is good for the following reasons: Seize on a 4+, Dias of Destruction and is competent in melee and hard to kill. He isn't the most killy hero - I find Duke and Lelith kill much better than he does. In fact I have found Vect to be average - he contributes and he is useful but he never does anything completely over the top insane OMGWTFBBQ note worthy in battles. Admittedly Malys doesnt either; but her overarching utility of "force weapons, maledictions, witchfire and whatnot don't hurt me or my squad" is rather confronting to some armies (maybe not necrons); that said she does gain the benefits of Doom oddly enough.

Oh incidentally your beast pack has been listed under heavy support and not fast attack. That said I'm not sure what the point of the pack is in this list; they usually work with 4-5 masters and 10-15 khymaera and 2-4 flocks of rending orgasms.

You've got the bare bones of the assaulty punch of the DE in the list but spread to thin - Grots need to be big and smash OR Beasts need Baron and to be big and smash. 2 small squads like these get picked off too fast.

Ok thanks for the advice, I'm realizing I don't really have the model mass required for a coven list, so I think I'll post a new list with kabal of a thousand cuts style, I always liked kabbies anyway.

I'm gonna have to disagree with syranas on the grot issue. I have personally run a grot setup pretty close to yours and it completely wiped out two big immortal squads, took a couple hp's off a doomsday ark and wittled down a lych guard squad in one game! Now I'll admit the grots werent doing most of the damage, but small squads of them like this can bring great boosts to the ic's accompaning them.

In my squad I had 3 grots with a liquifier accompanied by 3 haemies with liquifiers and vb's and a suped up archon all in a raider. Basicly you drive around dropping 4 liquifiers on everyone which is how I destroyed the immortal squads, and then once your ride gets blown up you can basicly charge whatever. I wouldnt advise taking it in a competitive setup since it is a bit pricy on points, but for anything else its great and loads of fun to play with.

Thanks for the advice Tadpole, its interesting to see different oppinions and your's was encouraging as I just converted three from rat ogres (converting being mountinng them on 40mm bases LOL) and was starting to lose hope that they would see a game but I think I might put them in my next Kabal list even, just for a twist and I'll probbably zoop them around with vect for a little surprise.

I'm not really a huge fan of ancient haemies, but if you still want to take one I would give him casket of flensing since he's BS 5, its well worth it when you finally roll 10+ AP 2 shots and totally wreck a termie squad single handedly. Also I would give both haemies a vb too, and then drop the agoniser off the ancient, agonisers are pretty meh this edition especially for their point cost.

Also reavers are better at delivering HL's imo, but if you dont have the models then the scourges are fine. Other than that the list looks like its coming along pretty well though, best of luck!

Caskets of Flensing fire at bs2 btw but its ok I'm posting a new list soon as I'm going in a different direction, I'm recieving some new models and my list will now be more Kabbie themed plus I'm buying some reavers and plan on having a total of 9 reavers to make 3 squads.

Reavers are da bomb! also I'm not really sure where your getting casket of flensing having to be fired at bs2, unless a new faq came out in the past week or so that totally nerfed it.
