Here is a model I converted for my Chaos Space Marine army. The idea behind the army is they are the scouts for the Terminus Est, and spread the seeds of plague before the main fleet enters the system. Their bodies are host to this plague and are eroding at a much faster rate, Pthe armor on the Plague Marines has turned to bone. They also consume their enemies in order to give Papa Nurlge some good bits to experiment with as well as to maintain their physical forms. In the case of the Maulerfiend, it's a modified form of the Obliterator Virus. The Maulerfiend and other Daemon Engines in the Plaguewind detachment consume not only flesh to improve their form, but the mechanical bits as well. They are mainly fast attack, and are different from other Death Guard.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

That is absolutely mental. But epic. That green cage of fire is brilliant!

Now THAT is a conversion. Loving the silly little nurgling on the shoulder, and that swinging green fire ball is awesome, how did you make that? or is it from a model I'm not aware of?

Thanks guys, I had a lot of fun making it. The censer is from the Skaven Screaming Bell kit, which also makes a Plague Catapult. As I had made the Bell, I had this little gem tucked into my bitz box waiting for the perfect occasion

BTW I'm from MA as well.

I'd love to see more from this army. I like that your conversion is something different and unique, and I especially like that you went with something more for your Nurgle aligned models than 'bloated and gangrenous.' The extra mile makes all the difference in the world!

Thanks all

I'm working on some more stuff now, and I don't have anything 100% complete and ready for this section of the forums. I do keep threatening to start a blog here, once I do I'll put in a link here for those interested.

Thanks all, I built and painted all the bases (except the Maulergiant) yesterday.

Nevelist47: Great feedback, thank you. The pics were taken very quickly last night when I finished at about 230 AM, so I didn't really put as much effort as I may normally. I used to take pictures in my lightbox, but recently changed my mind about that. I found that the pictures I liked best were the ones with some background, some terrain. I esepecially like using that bit of CoD terrain as it's interesting yet subtly painted so it doesn't detract from the models. I use the same philosophy when I am making bases as well, I like to make them interesting but I'll purposefully underpaint them to make sure the attention is on the model. You may also notice I use a bit of this method on the models themselves, I really want the glowing eyes and purple parts to pop leaving the rest fo the model a brown, disgusting mess.

That said, I did rush the photos above. I'll take some more, and I'd like to upload them to the Dakka gallery.
