Anyone here with experience with Vallejo Model Air? I have an Iwata HP-CS and am wondering if I need to think this paints. I've always made my own mixtures and thinned my own paints because I couldn't get a hold of VMA here but a new store opened up and they stock it. I notice a lot of painters using VMA for basing/shading models and I want to do the same.

Any advice or thoughts on it?

Yeah, you do. I generally thin 3:2 with vallejo airbrush thinner. If you cant get ahold of that, a mix of distilled water liquitex flow aid and liquitex dying retarder works just as well.

I use most of my VMA straight out of the bottle.

so, in my experience no.

I have used;
createx, vma, golden, aztek, testors metallics, allclad II dedicated airbrush paints - I find my favorites are the golden and vma.

I have used just about every brand of paint (non airbrush) thinned for use - my fav thinner is actual airbrush medium - its a little more expensive than water/windex, but I am happy with it.

best of luck!

Can depend on the nozzle size. My .25mm clogs a bit unless I thin just a touch.
