After reading codex Tau and the FAQ I have not located an AP on Commander Farsight's sword. I am not sure whether it is considered a non-standard power weapon with AP 3 or does it just ignore armor saves all together.

It is not a power weapon. Basically the profile is

Range..Str.....AP..Type
....-......User....-....Melee, Armourbane, ignores armour saves

Awesome that is all I needed to know my buddy plays necrons and a bunch of his HQ's have a 2+ save he was telling me its a nonstandard power weapon but I felt that was wrong. Goodbye Overlord.

Don't charge his overlord, MSS means Farsight sees the Dawn blade up his crack. Res orbs makes targeting Necron Hqs kind of a waste of time as well. Just kill the troops and win.

The rules for the dawn blade are right there under "Dawn Bade"
