Excuse me, 10£ for a single miniature? While they certainly look nice, the price is beyond any common sense...

/e: On second thought, they are cheaper than those GW sells - guy with banner => BSB + 2 hero or lord choices.

Their books are ok-ish.

So are these a special character command?

I like the models but hate the price, £30 for three guys is a tough pill to swallow.

Also fail to understand why they included a slayer and not a musician.

The Dragon Slayers looks like a real misfit in there.

I spent 1600 dollars on my chaos dwarf army from forgeworld . Just to throw some numbers out there and that's 3k points

Well, that makes it a bit more reasonable, since now they're "character prices" rather than command models for a regiment.

In Cdn a single slayer character is $18, and the BSB is $21.75 and lords run $18 - 19.75 (all for finecast)

Converting from GBP, even after adding forgeworld's shipping I'm coming out to around $18.40 each - which to make the comparison to GW fair, I'll remove what I would pay in tax. Then they are $16.28 each equivalent pre-tax price. Making them much cheaper than what I could buy here from GW.

AU pricing. The new price for finecast characters as of the Warriors of Chaos book is $39.

Ashitaka, if you read my post right before yours, I said it's more reasonable as character pricing, which is what these apparently are, rather than unit command.

I`m not sure where you guys are shopping, but that's cheaper than the individual characters that GW sells.

That really has become the situation as GW has increased prices on characters with each recent release just like everything else. The plastic Chaos Space Marine Champion released just a few months ago was $20 US. The latest plastic Chaos Lord released in early February is $25 US. The Finecast Vilitch in blister pack is also $25. The price of GW's single characters in blisters has been creeping up nearly every month with each new release.

As I've already said recently if there's anything you want now I'd buy it before the end of May, I'm afraid to see what this year's "annual price rise" will bring. Who thinks the Stormraven will jump $16.50 all in one go again? :(

How else will they be able to afford to throw BT and SM decals into every box?

I don't really care for "hunchy the slayer" - the lord and bsb are decent enough, but don't really blow me away compared to what's already available for Dwarfs.

Bit of a whiff imo. The Night Goblin set is way nicer.

But I was more hoping to address the general issue about forgeworld being expensive, when, for most things, it has become the cheaper option.

Y'see, now I'm seriously considering going to the FW Open Day in April, to get these guys and (probably) the new show model, assuming we get one for 2013...

Depends on whether the AoW stuff is available at retail yet, or only direct from Felix. As Felix' stuff (sloooowly) hits shops, there's less and less reason to purchase dwarves from GW or even FW. Now he just needs to make a Gyrocopter analogue.

I actually really like the slayer, looks like a fun model.
