Hey guys I just order some lobba's for my orks but I'm not really happy that they cannons have no bases for them especially since there finecast. Is it allowed to put bases on the cannons to protect them some what. Deos anyone know what size base would be appropriate. Is the dreadnought bases to big. I'm not sure what the size of the loba is since its direct order.

They don't really NEED bases, but the stock Big Gunz overflow a 40mm.

I put all mine on 60mm bases. Most Ork conversions I have seen have also gone 60mm. And since many people compare them to I. Guard heavy weapon teams, they are 60mm so it fits.

The only main thing is don't mount the grots on the base. The rules have them as different models, not like the Weapons teams which are a single 2 wound model.

RULE OF COOL: When converting models, there is only one rule: "The better your model looks, the less people will complain about it."

As they do not come with bases, bases are not required, and not used for any in game rules.

If you base them i would just make a custom one out of plasticard so it has some neat scenary following it. Theres no base for them RAW, so you can play that it doesnt exist even if you have it there.
Its what i intend to do atleast. Make a 3by3inch square with rounded edges out of plasticard just to make it more durable (mine however are going to be scratchbuilt im not buying such expensive models that arent THAT useful and need to be spammed anyway)

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.
