For the past few months I have really been getting back into fantasy, and leading my Dwarfs to war once more. However, I have also been looking a great deal at the other armies, especially since many have been coming out, and in shiny new 8th Edition hardcover books. I am very much involved in the Lore, and enjoy reading it a great deal. Now, I love the Dwarfs and their Lore, but I am having a difficlut time deciding on another army to choose. Preferably something on the more evil side, but it doesnt matter too much.

So, I would enjoy some suggestions for armies, I was thinking of Warriors of Chaos, Ogres, Vampire Counts, Skaven, possibly the new Daemons if they are balanced, also Empire. I am really looking for an army to collect while the Dwarfs book is remade.

With that said, how do these armies fare in 8th? (Warriors of Chaos specifically, regarding the new book) and also, how do you think the direction of all the armies is going, regarding the books that have been released? And how they will go through this year and onward?

Personally, I like the new army books. They are pretty balanced when you compare each new book to each other. When you use the older books, things tend to get wonky and lop sided power wise. I think warriors of chaos got a slight boost in some areas and took hits in a couple of areas. They got a couple of new units that are pretty mean but they took a big hit to war shrines and chosen. The cost of marauders went up and made people mad but they were ridiculously cheap before so it only made sense. If you like the models go for them. They are a one phase army - they will dominate HtH and that is it. If you want to participate in all phases, go with Empire. They are the jack of all trades, master of none.

I also find that the books have become more balanced overall. Which, is a welcome sight. Warriors of Chaos seem like they will be fun to play, and Empire as well. And I agree about the units in WoC. Some were valued at strange and cheap prices for what you got.Much like Dark Elves now, I mean that book is really in need of a balaner.
