I am a little unsure about this one, a model with the following wargear. close combat wpn, Bolt pistol and Bolter, does the model count as having all 3 and if so does it have to have all 3 shown on the model. also how does this affect no of attacks if the model is shown holding a chainsword and a bolter in the other hand does it still gain +1 attack for 2 weapons, or is it only if it is shown with a bolt pistol?

If the model is "equipped" with those items (standard wargear I assume?) then the model has all of those items.

Depending on how WYSIWYG you want to be you don't necessarily NEED to have them all on the model (how many people model standard space marines with frag and krak grenades?) but it's pretty cool if you do.

Yes, you get the +1 attack for 2 CCW's (bolt pistol + other CCW). What the model has in it's hands is irrelevant .. what it is equipped with for wargear matters.

While you should strive to show the wargear on a model at all times. If you have a grey hunter and have it modeled with a bolter and CCW it still has a bolt pistol in it's wargear.

The model doesn't dictate the wargear, it is the other way round. The model has the wargear that it has in the army list even if the model doesn't have it all shown. The WYSIWYG convention is adopted so that it makes it easier to understand what models are armed with. If I have two rune priests it is impossible if they are modelled with holstered pistols which is the priest with a plasma pistol. However you don't have to model all the basic wargear of a model, upgrades are what people usually want to see.
A space marines has a bolter, pistol and two types of grenades but nobody would care if it just had it's bolter modeled.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

I haven't got the pistol on any of them. Bolter/specialist weapon and an optional ccw is what I have on them and nobody has ever complained but YMMV

In the case of Grey Hunters, I take the individuality from the fluff to heart. I added some variety in each model in the unit, some are holding chainsword and bolt pistol, some are holding chainsword and bolter, some are holding pistol and bolter, and some are holding the two handed bolter. In my mind, this accurately portrays the unit as having all three peices.

My Tyranid models usually have Upgrades such as toxin sacs and Adrenal Glands.

But because i swap them out every so often, i don't model them with it. But i've still paid for the upgrade.

Its handy for models like Hive Tyrants. They might buy an Implant Attack upgrade, but there isn't really a clear way to model that.

Yay Grey Hunters!

I modeled all mine in different ways, I even have one with two bolt pistols. Why? Because he looks badass pointing two pistols.
