Hello Dakka!

Please review my TAC list, your feedback is much needed and appreciated.

HQ

Librarian: Null Zone, Gate of Infinity
DA Librarian: Divination (Presience, no need to hide it )

Troops
Tactical Squad: Lascannon, meltagun, combi-melta, Rhino
Tactical Squad: Lascannon, meltagun, combi-melta, Rhino
Tactical Squad: Multi-melta, flamer, combi-flamer, Rhino
DA Scout squad (5 strong): sniper rifles, camo cloaks

Elites
Sternguard Squad (5 strong): 5x combi-melta, Drop Pod

Fast Attack
Stormtalon Gunship: TL assault cannon, skyhammer ML
Stormtalon Gunship: TL assault cannon, skyhammer ML

Heavy Support
Thunderfire Cannon
Thunderfire Cannon
Predator: sponson lascannons
DA Predator: sponson lascannons

Fortifications
Aegis Defence Line: Quad Gun

Ok, now to basic tactics:
The DA are there just to provide Prescience, cheap base-camping scouts and the 4th Heavy Support slot for the Predator.
I plan to set up the Predators and maybe some combat squaded lascannons (also possibly the DA Librarian for re-rolls) behind the Aegis Line for cover
The Thunderfires bolster ruins and take the high ground.
Stormtalons and Quad Gun are my anti-air and fire support
The Sternguard are just a means to take out some out-of reach serious threat upon landing (i am looking at you Russes )
Basically, set up a fire base, de-mech the opponents transports so the Thunderfire can prove useful.

As it is, the list is 1880 pts, 30 pts more than it should be. The easy solution would be to cut the combi-weapons on the sarges, but they are too valuable in-game..
Any ideas what i could do different?
I am not sure about the Sternguard as they are a lot of pts for 5 suicidal marines, but they give the ability to get rid of a nasty thing 1st turn, or force the opponent to bubble-wrap and be vulnerable to the Thunderfires

I thank you in advance for your help!

You need more scoring units. 30 Marines and 5 Scouts really won't cut it vs balanced lists. I'd consider another 5 man unit. I also think the 5 man Sternguard squad isn't very good. 5 Marines are so easy to kill and in an edition where mech isn't as popular, you may often find yourself unable to find a useful target and instead just hoping to kill a few infantry models which most likely will get a 5+ cover save. I'd drop the Sternguard, pick up 5 more DA scouts (cheap and good with the bolster from Techmarines) and then you can fit another 100+ pts worth of stuff. Maybe 2 Attack bikes with Multi-melta (If you find yourself in need of meltas).

Drop one of the librarians, get Pedro cantor, get more sternguard in drop pods. This will give you more scoring, more treat, and a clearer strategy to utilize

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also to help cut a few points use DA tacs. Just don't upgrade their SGT and you'll save 10 pts each.

Thanks for the replies!

@Solosam47:
If i go that way, i need to have at least 2 full Sternguard squads in Drop Pods in order to justify Pedro and i lose combat tactics in an army that has zero CC potential. They would all cost 775 pts.
What would you cut from my list to make it happen?

@LValx
If i do not find any immediate threats i can always deploy the Sternguard in my zone out of the Drop Pod and use them as defenders vs anything that comes close (they are great vs everything really)
It is just that they are too many points..
I have not much exprience with MM BIkes, but they seem a bit easy to kill or miss the one shot. Do you believe they are reliable means for what i need the Sterns?

take a squad of two and that's 4 T5 wounds that will be difficult to easily remove, 2 shots should give you some reliability and they have a greater threat range. I think they would work well.
