So I did some binging/googling and found:

and found:

So in one of them they're saying that overwatching with a quad gun is legal, but the other one says it's not and even gives a link to the FAQ saying that you can't...

The problem is the difference between Aegis Defence line and the Bastion, since 1 is a fortification and the other is a treated as a trench or wall?

1) Anyway, in all words can you overwatch with the Turret if the unit holding it is being charged?

Also,
2) How does a Quad Gun shoot on its own with BS2 when no one is manning it? it's written in the rules that you can have it auto shoot?

3) The problem who does it belong to now as I could potentially grab the gun with my own units if no one was manning it correct?

4) What happens when me and an enemy unit both hold the gun at the same time? I assume you both get to shoot it on your shooting turn? what if it intercepted can it still shoot?
So essentially when it intercepts on my turn and then my opponent is still holding it can it still shoot?

5) When do you actually place the Defense line & gun down? and are you allowed to redeploy it with skills and stuff? I read before that you put down those things before Terrain and stuff, so hence I would be able to deny your Gun's LOS?

1. One model in base contact can fire the Quad-Gun in place of his own weapon. If he can fire is own weapon (such as being charged) he can fire the quad-gun (some restriction apply, see Interceptor).

2. This comes up quite often it seems. There are Emplaced Weapons and Weapon Emplacements. Emplaced Weaponscan auto-fire at BS 2. Weapon Emplacements (which the quad-gun is) can only fire if a model is in base contact.

3. The Quad-gun belongs to nobody. Anyone can fire it assuming they are in base contact.

4. Technically yes. However, I am of the opinion that it takes a full game turn to "reload" so if you fire intereceptor, it cannot be fired again until your opponents next movement phase.

5. Fortifications taken as part of a players FOC are placed before any terrain. This means you could block it with terrain. Note that Fortifications do count towards terrain density.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

1)What's with the FAQ about not allowing overwatch with fortification guns?
http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2590005a_40K_RULEBOOK_v1a.pdf

Page 6.

2) So what is an emplaced weapons then?

3) So even if you buy it, it belongs to no one?

4) So no shooting on the other's turn after using interception?

5)So I could potentially put a huge thing right in front of the gun then?

1/2. Emplaced Weapons (which is what the question deals with) has rules found on page 96. Gun Emplacements (sorry) are on page 105.

3. Correct. Gun Emplacements are Terrain.

4. As I said, RAW it cannot be fired in the following turn. So while technically you can fire it in the shooting phase immediately after it was fired for Interceptor, that is not how I would play it, based on the Eldar FAQ.

5. Yes

Makutsu - you are making a common mistake, which is there arte TWO types of "battlefield" weapons - Emplaced WEapons and Gun Emplacements. As happy has shown y ou, they have different rules and therefore a FAQ for one does not automatically apply to the other.

Which is why I make the area within the ADL as small as possible, leaving just enough room for the Quad-Gun and Fire Dragons and a 2.1" gap all around.
